  2. Democratically elected though wasn't he with the 2nd largest majority 3rd time he was elected, (I think he also claims to have achieved the largest majority 1st time around), so whatever it is he is doing must resonate with his electorate in London.

Gets home earlier, chance to do the paperwork mid week, not the weekend, send the invoices out a few days earlier to keep the bank manager happy maybe? (apart from the obvious of fitting a job into 1 day and not day and a half so you can go to the new job in the morning, catches up along the week, no Saturday morning jobs, no OT to pay)

    Jokes???

  5. Why’s that then? Most jobs are done on a fixed price quote? There’s no Bruce’s bonus for finishing a job early unless you can squeeze in a small job? And then if that overruns you’ll piss the blokes off! The only thing you get for finishing a job early is an increase in staff moral?
  6. Anyone else think Sadiq Khan is playing the same old card.. | Gerard O'Shaughnessy WWW.LINKEDIN.COM Anyone else think Sadiq Khan is playing the same old card.. He claims thatv Donald Trump’s recent... Absolutely pathetic and so so predictable, Standard tactic, play the race card at every opportunity to stifle any criticism.
  7. The GL&D super look great, £13k +VAT though... it has a niche that it'll be amazing for. Clearing woodland brash isn't that niche. It's not going to be quick at what your describing either.. Probably the most cost effective way and efficient is stack in chipper friendly pikes, and when your out of space hire a 6-8" tracked machine for a short period... unless you want to spend many thousands on owning your own. Or burn it, which is quick and free!?
  8. Has anyone on here seen or modified a Greenmech CS100 to sit on a tracked barrow? I have a greenmech, it's a good chipper but it sucks moving it around, it's actually quite limiting where it can go with one person..

  10. Thanks fellas, great bits of information 👌
  11. You know that and I know that, but lots of the enquiries were from Peterborough - in the city they don't know anything about trees and don't know neighbours to ask for a recommendation. Problem is bark do a good job of appearing on Google search. Ideally we'd all pay Steve a few quid to make a central tree surgeon index which does well on Google and everyone's info is written by another tree firm so is brutally honest. "Climbs slower than a three legged tortoise but makes a nice reduction nonetheless" type of thing.
  12. Or just put it in gift bags and leave them in the foyer for the audience to take home, maybe with a charity collection box next to it.
  13. Still good firewood, patience will dry it just as well as a kiln. Local FB page, or look on the tip sites page here on arbtalk.
  14. I havn't used stovax, but have used three other 'eco design' stoves that have been utter s**** - hard to light and smokey. Ive posted on this topic here before. The problem (as I see it) is that these stoves are designed to divert/restrict exhaust so it recirculates and re-burns the gases within the stove repeatedly. These is also less control of air going in. These stoves need very exact operating conditions - airflow in the room, flue length/straightness/temperature. They may work fine in a new airtight house (that is warm already) with a perfectly straight/lined and insulated flue, but conditions in older properties are much more variable. Give me big old Charnwood or Clearview anyday. These stoves have massive air intakes that can make them roar like a steam train on lighting. Yes more heat goes up the chimney and you use more wood, but it doesn't smoke into the room.
  15. Horse chestnut or sweet chestnut? Either way, if you save it up then list it in car boot sized loads free on gumtree or Facebook I should think people would collect it. They certainly would down here, may be a bit different in London?
  16. Aye, It was somewhat incendiary and I thought better of it. :
  17. Hi, Bit of an odd one, I work for a theatre based in London that will be chopping logs of wood on stage for weeks (9 logs per performance). We would like to give away the wood, however it would be not kiln dried, likely chestnut wood. How do I approach this? Are there schemes in place to give away wood? Many thanks,
  18. Hello all. Are you an established business owner in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk or Suffolk and have at some point considered adding tree H&S surveys, BS5837 work, tender submissions, protected tree advice, veteran and/or woodland management plans to your business services but dropped the idea because its not your bag, the equipment or training requirements or you are too busy with the actual tree work? If so, do let me know if you are interested in a chat about how I can assist your business in these areas. There are plenty of options available - Services completed under your business banner or through my own (often preferred to demonstrate objectivity in work specs), and I have been providing the above for the last 2 decades. Examples, references and cv available if so required. Level 5 Arb (working on Level 6), Professional member of the AA, PTI, DBS clearance, PI, PL insurance etc. Why the marketing blurb? I am returning from a large scale national corporate position to small business again and I'm keen to build long term local relationships with those that see the mutually beneficial potential that exists, and of course unlocking new revenue streams from existing client bases and indeed new client opportunities. Thanks for your time Contactable at [email protected] New domain up soon at www.canopyandcrown.co.uk
