  1. Past hour
  2. Watched Nick Hilton start to slab an oak butt at The Bentley Wildfowl Forestry Show some 20 years back. A blue stain appeared and just grew bigger until he set about it and it was a horse shoe, hung on a branch a long time ago. It didn't have any nail holes in it! We dendro dated it and he knew where the butt came from too. He did write it up in Forestry and British Timber magazine when that was in print.
  3. Pete I’d try ticking the IVA box or just get a really decent trailer lighting board fitted that looks the part and crack on 🤷‍♂️. The machine is under 750kg so no brake issues, wheels and axles look ok, hitch is a hitch, tyres, wheel bearings( if any doubts) and indeed the hitch can be replaced at not big costs. I’ve ran a normal 37t rock splitter for years now with no hassle, tyres rotted out and I replaced a knackered spool valve after about 5 years and went to proper single handed operation as opposed to a cobbled up set up. That machine looks ok to me, Honda 800! Is a great unit ( had one on my first Trakmet sawmill, zero hassle and quite frugal) and that flow rate/cycle time is good. No doubt a few weld and hose repairs will be required over the years but as you say you’d probably need at least another £10k to go eastonmade or equivalent.
  4. Dunno about the solar panel thing. The only experience I have of solar panels is that my parents had it fitted years ago and they hardy get any money back from it. Its broken a couple of times and each time it seems to cost a grand to sort it out which wipes out any savings that they have made over the previous years. They are old and probably being fleeced but that's not my problem
  5. Thats gotta be fake. There's no contactless card payment!
  6. We are looking for a subby groundsman semi / full-time work. Monday to Thursday Andrewstreecare 07854477761
  7. Some do, rainwater harvesting for those very things make perfect sense, if they fail the mains water kicks in. Remind me why all new builds don’t have solar panels fitted? It's almost like successive government's don’t want us to have green energy!
  8. One of my mates who worked in the water industry banged on about that a bit. Surely new build houses could have some system that uses rain water, waste water from the shower sink etc to fill up the toilet.
  9. Today
  10. I’ve often thought a good old fashioned military style 60 second milling session with some gentle 18s on, at one of the arb shows would be a good crack.
  11. This amused me: Talking about a TV show "failing TV show, the lowest ratings for years"... kind of irony since Trump is also suffering from his lowest approval ratings ever. Failing? Anyway, Epstein, Trumps first bestie. Apparently the judge looking at these things says the evidence put forward in 2007 Grand Jury cannot be released - no real justification to do so apart from appeasing Trumps baying mob. Noting that the evidence put to the Grand Jury is dwarfed by what the FBI has... and yet it is the small amount Trump was pushing to get released... which would have quietened his fans without implicating himself. So I suspect in the US the baying mob of Trump fans will be asking for snippets from the FBI... who are reputed to have all the good stuff. Suspect that Epsteins files there will be cross linked to files they have on a lot of other people, your Tangoed god no doubt has his own archive too. JD Vance being quiet this week. Hmmm. Curious.
  12. Any way, my water authority pension kicks in next April. Not sure if I'm pleased about that or not.
  13. I don't know why you two just didn't meet up for a oil soaked wrestle? Would have saved terabytes of total wankery over several years. I mean France isn't that far from Denmark. You could have held the joust in say,Sweden. Neutral at that point too.
  14. Hi all, Fairly new to the industry I have been climbing around 6 months. I am looking to do some climbing out of work to practise different limb walks etc.. However I am struggling to find places to go climb as in without permission from landowner. Can anybody point me in the right direction on how to obtain permission to climb or has anyone “practised” outside of work themselves in the past? Many thanks, Lee. North/West Yorkshire based.

  16. Mount it on a heavy duty, type approved motorbike trailer🤔
  17. @Billhook made his own with videos. I would like to see one dealing with a big beech or oak fork
  18. I don't know but @Justme was the expert on trailers, I don't think he reads this forum now.
  19. That's Plan B. But it would save extra fuel if I could tow one thing. Eastonmade would be the choice. But the price...
  20. Which probably is a hassle if they sell it without approval. Is it a more substantial axle, tow hitch?
  21. I contacted Rock Machinery and that's what they told me- it has Indespension units but it's not road towable.
  22. Anyway, back to business.
  23. Seeing as you are all over this tonight Dempsey maybe you can make sense of the Dolescum comment 🤷‍♂️rather than just trying to be a smart arsed dick and post pics up, from what I’m picking up from those who’ve been here longer than me, you seem to have always had a mouth on you online eh Dempsey. Maybe back in the day a few pics and a limp comment or two was bad ass enough to get you in the naughty step, but I’d say you might have to up your game a bit lad if it’s a good bite you want. 😘
  24. That back from your glorious past Dempsey, can’t help but let your personal feelings get in the way can you, then as now seemingly.
  25. Well in fairness he is no longer available.
  26. Honesty I was hoping that Mick would stay out of Johnson's lane. Now we are risking a repeat of the endless circle-jerk that was the Mick/Stig Circus over at " The Treehouse".
