    Clutch spring hack

Someone take a picture for my curiosity please. Haven't been near a Husky in years.
  3. That’s a beaut! Do their grabs fit on other machines or just the WQ’s?

    Clutch spring hack

Harder on Stihl. Had to (carefully) grip the splines on the clutch drum with water pump pliers and tap those to drift the drum off. Doing it often would unduly mar the splines. None of the manuals had any less destructive ideas.
  5. I generally grow the things that I cant buy readily here in the shops, very hot chillis, Padron peppers, and oddly, mange tout. This year I’m growing Okra for the first time, so far dead easy, lush plants just starting to produce an abundant crop, pretty flowers also.
  6. Agreed, bored by it now. 👍

The article could have been better written, sounds like a marketing company with zero understanding as it's a very poorly written reasonings. What they should have said as the AA. We proactively work with our members to ensure high standards are maintained within the industry and would withdraw membership on such flagrant rule breaking etc.
  8. Bet those beams weigh a fair bit. 😂

If a bloke who does lime mortaring and leaded windows graffitis a nice old church, is his crime greater or lesser than a builder who uses expanding foam doing the same graffiti? Obviously there’s no bloody difference. They’ve both graffitied a nice old church. Load of bollocks. Waste of internet. Not aimed at you particularly, Mick. I should use the quote function more consistently.
  10. Point taken, they do mention themselves. But I stand by my assertion that the header is sensationalist, and doesn’t fairly reflect the thrust of the statement.

THE jailing of two “experienced tree surgeons” for felling the Sycamore Gap tree should serve as a reminder to rely only on recognised arborists, the Arboricultural Association has said. Former friends Adam Carruthers and Daniel Graham have begun a four-year and three-month prison sentence after being found guilty of two charges of criminal damage, one to the tree and one to Hadrian’s Wall when the tree fell on it in September 2023. And speaking in the wake of the pair’s sentencing last month, officials at the AA were keen to point out the difference between a ‘tree surgeon’ and a fully trained and qualified arborist. A statement from the AA read: “We welcome the judicial system’s response to the destruction of this heritage tree, and we are encouraged by the public’s deep appreciation of the importance of trees for individuals, communities, and society. In this context, the expertise and knowledge of tree care professionals has never been more important. “We note the judge’s description of the men convicted in this case as ‘experienced tree surgeons’. This is an important point for clarification. Anybody can call themselves a ‘tree surgeon’ but, although this term is generally understood, it is not one that guarantees a level of competence or professional integrity. By contrast, professional arborists are highly skilled practitioners who at times need to cut or remove trees as part of their work.” Urging members of the public to rely on the AA’s accredited list of consultants and contractors, the organisation added: “We strongly recommend that tree owners and land managers choose arborists who are members of a recognised professional body.”
  12. I always grease the nose sprockets of my saws, all my saw run aftermarket bars (Sugi/Tsumura) once the stock bar has worn. Get back to the workshop, sharpen the chains, clean air filter, blast all the crud out of the side casing/guidebar groove and grease up on reassembling, never had a nose sprocket failure in 30 years. Needle bearing probably once a week/fortnight, takes two seconds with Husqvarna no point in not doing it.
  13. Or receiving a machine that’s about a foot long.
  14. I can just see that ending with you being a grand down in some Chinese account and receiving nothing.

I meant I had only just read (red) it. I’m a reckless reactionary like that, Mick. Harmlessly on this occasion but reckless nevertheless.
  17. Today
  18. What is the most stressful job to have? Working at the Jobcentre - coz even if you get sacked you still have to go in the next day.
  19. Klou supplied it with bollard and capstan mate. That Microbull hydraulic capstan does look handy. You can achieve the same effect by backing up the machine though, although not always ideal. 96ef8a93-70b1-4510-b7cd-333483329708.mp4
  20. It's basically putting pressure on Zelensky to make a deal - a third of Ukraine probably. The West wasn't prepared to shed blood over this, only give up some supplies
  21. Quite possibly, does this machine have a purge bulb? If so have you connected the pipes up in the correct orientation? remember it’s a purge so pulls fuel from the carb and dumps back to tank, not pumping fuel into the carb.
  22. Confused Stubs, what do you mean? ah, I interpret “just read it” as “I have just read it” You interpret it as “just read (reed) it” Past and present have the same conjugation.

Could be wrong Mick ( I often am ) but I think he was saying you read it , possibly ?
  24. Looks stunning.
  25. Could you post a link to the article please? I can’t for some reason. Then separate the actual statement the AA put out, which only says to used approved guys at the end, the main thrust of it is about heritage trees (and the public appreciation of them) and the difference the terminology of tree surgeon/arborist thing. Interesting that you hadn’t read the article when you started the thread. They don’t even name themselves, just recommend using someone affiliated to a professional body.
  26. Unsurprisingly it seems Trump and Putin got nowhere .
