Its not been out yet, I'm getting quite irritated at DX for not delivering my new ladders, so cant do a small prune job I had lined up. I will hopefully get to test it on Mon or Tues. The guard is off, its three screws then an E clip from the inside. I got mine from PowerToolWorld who are now out of stock and put the price up to £400! As far as I know, theres no stock left in the UK.
  5. Sounds like a good recovery for a 40ft fall! Get well soon. Do you want to return to tree work and climbing? I like to use a cinching anchor for pole work. Its a bit of annoyance but I prefer the extra safety of it.
  6. Looking at the picture again it does look like the die back is coming from the ash tree behind but the photo quality’s making it hard to see what actually is going on!
  7. I’d be more concerned about the one on the left as it looks like die back in the crown unless it’s a dead ash tree behind ! The die back from chestnut is usually caused by bleeding canker and when it gets to the stage of visible dieback it’s usually because the branches have large areas of non functioning cambium that makes them prone to branch failure. The tree on the right just has severe leaf minor which most chestnuts do … it usually starts to get very noticeable by the end of August.. best way of dealing with that is take all the leaves as soon as they drop and remove from site as the larvae will over winter in the ground once crawled from them .. it won’t stop it but trees I see that have this done look noticeably better.
  8. I honestly dont know my other injuries were more severe and was on a lot of drugs for a while so never really had rhat much thought into it. i will have look to see if can find it but i think i threw it out so may never know. Did like the helmet seamed a lot lighter than other helmets
  9. How did you got head injury , is helmet straps fail? You are 3 person i know, who hade accident wearing Kong helmet ……..
  10. Go fund me ,link ?
  11. Today
  12. @kram Have you used yet? Been considering that XGT saw
  13. As above, our daughter and son in law, who is a mechanic, are intending to build on a derelict outfarm, we were up there today and the SIL said that he intends to buy a digger to clear the site and be there for the build. Which makes sense. Something about 8 tonne (ish) and at the rougher cheaper end of the spectrum. So what to look for, or what to avoid? I am entirely out of touch. Marcus
  14. Nasty, nasty Get well soon mate Wake up call to look where your putting your krabs
  15. Is it to replace post. Just cut with disc cutter twice.
  16. These pictures wher taken weeks later when got my hair cut dont know why my helmet came undone
  17. Hi, I have two, what I thought were horse chestnuts trees, are they? They both look sick especially the one on the right, is it okay? There does not appear to be any conkers on them, may be a few. I am sure they started off back in the spring with lots any idea why they would disappear?
  18. I get you now. I clipped my flipline into a caritool once and leant back. Went arse over tit but luckily landed in a bush and only from about 10’, so only pride was damaged.
  19. Was cutting trunk down in 3 or 4 peices to limt damage felling it came down on mainline to wher i was going to fellout first chunck
  20. Wishing you a full recovery mate. I’ve got to ask, why didn’t you descend on your main line?
