  2. AHPP

    Neat hook thing

Hence why probably never. It’s an idea but I haven’t worked out how it’s better than a biner yet. We don’t need new things if they’re not better.
  3. Something similar but less complicated was made from a 1/2" spring steel rod for ground skidding multiple trees when thinning, something thinner would work for ziplining. Picture of the concept made from a piece of copper wire.
  4. Yeah, clipping on a carabiner takes ages.
  5. AHPP

    Neat hook thing

I’ve got an idea for something that does that. Coming soon (probably never).

  9. i don't believe you can buy them from any dealers here like marmite full wraps, people love or hate them i doubt stihl would sell many over here that is the right part number, i got my 4 years ago from @shavey or import one in, i've done that before
  10. Whats the old saying "Americans can be relied on to do the right thing after its exhausted all other possibilities" Well Trump has been exhausting
  11. So what is going on here ? Stihl dealers tell me that there isn't such a thing available ... It's part No: 1147-790-3701 I say brightly .... That part number doesn't exist (i'm told by L&SEng's) I drop a wee line to Stihl UK ... I know, i'm innocent On their website I contacted Stihl Customer Service and asked if I could get a full wrap handle (part number 1147-790-3701 ) from them. To further proof I attached this ... I get a plethora of responses from Andreas Stihl Limited We have received your request. We will get back to you asap, meanwhile look on the website .... etc etc and then ... this Dear Mr Bartlett, Thank you for contacting us at STIHL Customer Service. Please kindly note that indeed, that MS 500i full wrap handle part is not available in our market. We have different market requirements in different countries. These include licensing requirements, purchasing power, demands for comfort and modernity, working methods, and other factors. For this reason, we offer the right product range tailored to each country. When products or parts are not available in a specific country, it is also important to consider that dealers may not be trained on those products, and spare parts might only be delivered with a delay. This approach ensures that customers receive the best service and support for the products available in their market If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Kind regards, STIHL GB Andreas Stihl Limited Phone: +44 (0)1276 20202 www.stihl.co.uk I replied ... Dear Anonymous Thankyou for your swift response. From your reply I understand that the reason you do not supply a full wrap handle for the 500i is that your (UK) dealers are not trained on this product ? They are trained on other models though, (the 300 and 400 series) for example, and that these full wrap handles are deemed fitting and meet the requirements of Licensing, Comfort and Modernity for these saws, but not for the 500i ? Have I understood your response clearly ? Perhaps you meant that there is no demand here in the UK (I would beg to differ on that point and would steer you towards the internet, the Arborists forums and your dealer/supplier network) ? Or is it that Germany can’t make them fast enough to supply other than the US market ? Any other specific reason I missed ? Best regards I await their response with baited breath, although given the "We're Stihl, how dare you question us" attitude of their initial response I have a feeling i'm not going to hear back.
  12. That's what the Luddites and Saboteurs said. Think about all those clerks who sat in rows and columns of desks with mechanical calculators summing up bank accounts, electricity bills etc. All jobs automated by data processing. Look at the service industries that grew with the labour which came available. Loss of jobs was never the issue because the problem comes from the wealth of the people that own the capital that grew the systems taking humanity on a train to the cliff at ever increasing speed.
  13. Talking of types lad what’s with the stand by Andrew ie not guilty comment ??. I’m very surprised that the nonce finder brigade on here haven’t come down on you for that one, although a leftard type mentality does buy you a bit of leeway for sure.
  14. You took the time to read the posts yet ?? , you should 42?? So I’m now being accused of stirring up social division 🤔🤔 I think you seriously overestimate Arbtalks impact on the world 42, either that or you are as is your way just making shit up to fit your take on the situation regardless of the facts.
  15. SJT

    Neat hook thing

Quick attachment for speed lining slings maybe?
  16. I'm not comfortable with this idea of human to human contact being replaced with human to AI contact. It seems to be increasingly accepted as the new normal. I heard a health program the other day talking about the use of virtual therapists to help people with mental health problems. Presumably there's at least some regulation backing that up if it's some kind of healthcare provider run thing. However, I recoil at the idea of children talking to AI bots about suicide in some dark, dodgy corners of the web.

  18. Oxford English dictionary first reference was what I posted you mong 👍 You can if your bored look that one up. Mr Thicky 😂😂😂I’m still laughing at that, a very polite attempt at an insult.
  19. FSI Stump Cutters proudly introduces the FSI B23, the successor to the popular FSI B22. Combining familiar design elements from both the FSI B21 and FSI B22, the B23 is engineered for everyday professional work by arborists, landscapers, contractors, and hire companies. With the FSI B23, you get to choose between a 14hp Kohler engine or an 11hp Honda engine, while enjoying the benefits of hydraulic wheel drive. The B23 combines power and user-friendliness with well-known and well-loved design features to make stump grinding easy and efficient. New features of FSI B23: Auto-Sweep Release: Automatically releases the sweep lock when the wheel brakes are applied, allowing you to reposition the machine quickly and safely at the stump. Closed Bearing on Cutterwheel Housing: Pre-greased and sealed from the factory for over 1,000 hours of operation, eliminating daily greasing and reducing maintenance concerns. Safety Bar: Stops the machine when released for increased operator safety. Other new features also include a larger sweep for increased cutting range, recoil start of the engine, and a document tube and hour meter now included as standard. “With FSI B23, we’ve refined what already worked well,” says Launy Luckmann, Development Engineer at FSI. “It’s a compact, reliable machine designed for professionals who want straightforward performance — with the comfort and simplicity that FSI is known for.” The FSI B23 reflects Danish engineering at its best — simple, robust, and made to perform day after day with minimal maintenance. 20. Very much in line with my thoughts.
  21. A big part of the problem with AI seems to be about who owns it. It's currently largely in the hands of rich, powerful individuals or under corporate control. As such it's being used to further commercial interests and personal agendas. With very few benefits to society as a whole, other than the data crunching. Maybe we need more Open Source AI, as opposed to Closed Source. I won't pretend to know much more about how it works, other than what the names would suggest.

  25. Mancock WTF are you on about now, like other members have mentioned have you been on a mad bender or something the last few days. That’s how new words make it into the dictionary don’t you know 👍👍 Give it time and it will be officially recognised as a term to describe the likes of your self, left wing and retarded 👍👍Leftard. If it’s good enough for the Argentinian President it’s good enough for me. just to prove a point. 1967: The slang use of "bell-end" to mean a "stupid person" is first cited by the Oxford English Dictionary
  26. I know. I think Garage, Tommy Robinson, Andrew Tate, and our very own little wannabe influencer Davey were all complicit in stiring up social division after the event. I expect Musk had his fingers in things in the backend as well. Paragons of virtue all of them obviously. The question is how many of them knew that it was disinformation but broadcast it anyway to further their own agendas? Most I bet.
  27. Worked well then I see. 😂😂Mr Thicky, you daft old bugger like I give a shit 💩
