I've been having a good clear out in the workshop and getting rid of all the junk that's been saved that will never get used! we've got a old Stihl 090 (from my old man's younger years) - no chain brake - its got red and white casing and what i can remember from about ten years ago your ear defenders explode off with the noise it creates. The bar and chain look like new.

I was wondering if the saw had any use for milling or to a vintage chainsaw collector? does it have any value? does the bar fit on a ms880?

Thanks!!

I could be interested at the right money for milling, if you decide to sell.

They are numb to use, not to current HSE, and not used that often in tree work any more, but are a good lugging saw, ideal for the mill.

Cant help you on the cross over with 880 though.

Likewise I would also be interested in the 090 at the right price. Yes, the bar does have the same mounts as the 880 (and the Contra/070/051/075/076/088).

Cheers

Yep do not sell it cheap as if working they are a great milling saw.

Super torque and no harder to use than an 880.

There are a few differences in the mount and what bar they take and not all bars for the MS880 will fit that saw.

I can't remember the exact differences but bars such as GB, Cannon and some Stihl will fit both 090 and 880 mount...
