I bought a couple of new saws in the last month with the new (to me anyway) bayonet type oil & fuel caps. The petrol caps are okay but the oil caps take ages fiddling around before they finally close properly. Anybody else having trouble or maybe I have a dodgy batch?:sneaky2:

There's a knack to it. On the ms200 tilt the saw after filling to allow the air bubble to come up, (do not re fill) then pres the cap down fairly firmly as you turn it.:001_smile:

I have been using my new saw today for the first time. It has the new caps. If you over fill the oil even slightly its a pain to get it to close. I had to tip some out in the end. The petrol one seems fine.

Its really made worse with over filling.

With the petrol cap, the fuel doesnt "hydraulic" the same as oil. Just dont fill quite as full and Im sure you will get used to them

if you fill it to the top, then when you push down and twist the cap locks, but just not in its right position, dont fill it to the top and you will be fine, but yes i have had a few sticky right legs since the new cap came out ha ha

Don't fill the oil tank to the brim as oil has a greater viscosity than petrol and as a result it's much harder to compress. This is the reason oil is used for hydraulics rather than a thinner solution, such as water.

Picture in you mind the position of the cap when closing, and practice a few times. I had the same problem when I bought 2 new MS200. After some practice I never had a problem anymore, but don't overfill the oil tank...:thumbup1:
