Excavator mounted flail heads "thing-gies", having seen what one accomplished along a sports pitch in less than 3 hours this morning.

What hedge?

No fuss, no mess, no hedge. (well not literally but almost):lol:

Just the job to tidy up round the 50 to 100 year overgrown pond at "The Risk", only prob will be paying for him on a "PJ" = Private Job.

Sigh

We have them for 3ton to 20ton machines. 2`to 5` cutters

The small one will cope with hedges, unless the machine is fitted with a powerpack you are juggling the available hydraulics between the machine and the head. It takes a skilled operator to get the best out of these heads. Its not as easy as it looks.

PM me if you need it.

A couple of people round here have them don't think they have much experience with them though judging by the results on some of the neglected farm hedges they have been used on. Almost as much mess as when the railway sends the flail cutters out to clear the banks, hedges butchered loads of badly split branches, big chunks of branches clogging ditches & scattered all over the edge of the fields. Wouldn't be so bad if they could be bothered getting out of the excavator & clearing the mess up after themselves but it works in my favour as I have been asked to tidy up a lot of neglected agricultural hedges (hand cutting) since people have seen the results of the flail cutters.

If you hire one the dog comes with it . :001_smile:

He can't reach the pedals...... 😝

Definitely a knack in getting the most out of them, took a few goes to set the roller up correctly, I use it mainly on pre clearing the ground for cutting, no tripping over brambles and other "carp"

Does a fairly good job on grass to, had a job earlier this year , unused football pitches, had not been cut in 5 years, 6.5 acres took a full day. But the results were impressive.
