  1. To be fair I could always do a double sided card with that flyer… Maybe change the pictures about a bit to something a bit simpler as it’d be very small
  2. Aye I’d never fell anything in a garden to be fair would always get a climber as it’d be an absolute nightmare. My work mate has felled pine trees between a garage and a house recently and they were that small either and it worked out for him but I’d never attempt that.
  3. Aye you are right. I know plenty of climbers to call on if needed if it needs it.
  4. Hey. Going to make business cards to follow up with this flyer as I now see the importance of it. Vistaprint seems pretty cheap for a couple hundred of them. I need to make a logo and make it clear as to what I do and not come across as a tree surgeon as I’m not a climber. Anyways. Where’s best to make a company logo?
  5. Surely you can’t be expected to run a saw, van and all your own kit for anything less than 200. I get more than that and don’t even think it’s enough at times!
  6. UK Hand Cutters page on Facebook? A lot of Scottish on there but the odd English as well I think. Wish we had forestry like you have down south. Surely the rates for a 8 hour day will be 200+. @Stere
  7. If it’s out of warranty it’s a major gamble lads…
  8. Has someone been watching a little too much Buckin Billy Ray last night
  9. Got this for sale in the Scottish Borders. Massively underrated saw. I’ve probably cut a good… 20 odd lorry loads of hardwood with a 24/28 inch bar (double cutting some of it). Never misses a beat until I had to put a new carb on it through warranty. Ran on that XP expensive Husky oil. This saw you literally just need to touch the throttle and it is revving right up and pulls into the wood. Word of advice is always check your chain if you do buy a bigger saw. This 585 will cut fine with a chain with the points off the cutters so I always check mines to make sure I’m always sharp as it’s decieving. Only selling because it’s too big and heavy for softwood felling that I do, and carrying it up hills is a pain. Slavor over… back to felling some stinking spruce
  10. More milk and porridge in the morning and grow into the tape
  11. It’s next on the list I think… Buy my 585 and 572 then so I don’t have to sell my tight arse. @htb PM me
  12. Would love a 346. Crocky does one and my work mate has one and it absolutely unreal
  13. I just think they suit me better. The high top filter cover on my 372 really compliments my eyes.
  14. May or may not start using Stihl bars as well
  15. Currently got a 353, 372, 395, 572 and 585. Don’t really need the 5 series anymore and they just sit in the garage.
  16. Good. I’ll meet you in Elgin, around the back of the co op. Fire up.
  17. Ah fair play. And yes they all work.
  18. Not sure if I’ve posted this on this forum but seems like a good topic to post it on… lol IMG_5107.mov
  19. I’d use this 585 none stop relentlessly cutting firewood and my hands would be in agony after 10-12 litres through the saw. Put anti vibe tape, think it is for pushbikes or something. Makes a hell of a difference, makes the handle thicker which is perfect if you have bigger hands I find.
  20. Can second that putting used gear oil into the fuel tank of a saw. Just emptied it and chucked a fill of petrol in and away I went. Worked fine smoked like crazy
  21. Aye. For the hardwoods. Pine is about 10-30cm in height. Bracken is about 60-70cm in that area, some up to 1m.
  22. 585 bought April 2023. Still in warranty. Aftermarket side cover from @shavey and dogs. 28 inch bar, will need a new chain. 572 bought September 2022. Warranty until September 2024. 18 inch bar and chain, could do with being replaced ideally. How much should I be listing these on marketplace for?
  23. IMG_5155.mov
  24. Big trees today. This one took a solid 5 minutes of battering and resetting wedges to get over. First bracken control/brushcutting job underway here an hour from me. Cutting around the hardwoods, and small pine… Learning curve to say the least… Last photo is the section I’m into next 0.4 hectare will make it my aim to smash it in a day.
  25. Now it is a bit scary how much the guards and a blade is. Coming in at about 100 pound but I guess they will last a while and the money is in the guard I guess… I see there is a two pointed shredder knife and I see there is also an Oregon 3 bladed mulching blade. Do they do the same thing or is one better than the other? Sorry if this has been answered in previous posts there is a lot of replies on here
