  1. Yes, i have firefox too!
  2. It is all bullshit though. It might be for new customers, then they keep on increasing the speed so you end up on superfast stuff. In fairness the price does not go up all the time.. It does seem to be very reliable, but when it does go wrong you have BIG troubles. One time it was off for weeks. They kept on saying that thre was a fault in my area. I told them it was not as my sisters house, not 100 yards away was working fine. After some weeks they came and had a look and it was where my bit of wire connected in thier box thing in the street about 75 yards away. They had to pay me compsation under ofcom rules. They did NOT like that.. john
  3. Back when i had windows 3.1 and then there was a later one "XP" it came with its own email thingy programme whatever. Anyway, when i had to get windows 8.1 it did not had an email thingy unless you bought an operating system for about £300 i think it was [then it came with outlook] Thunderbid was the nearest thing to that.. john..
  4. No, that is the broadband only price. It is less if you have televisoons and stuff, presumably as they then get bribes from somewhere. I have been with them for about 20 years, so, much like car insurance, they take the piss.. I should get a proper telephone wire connected up and get someone else as with their cable thing, apparently you are stuck with them?? john..
  5. All that stuff is beyond me, I do not even know what "onedrive" is. I see what you say about buying a computer every ten years, but why would i care. I guess you bought a chainsaw in preference to hireing one?? Same thing. What pisses me off, is that Virgin is VERY expensive for what it is [i mean hugely] but they think they can just decide not to do emails anymore. Is that not breach of contract?? I must be potty having them. Broadband only, no telephone, no telly, no whatever other shit people have these days, just the broadband for £67 a month.. john..
  6. Could be.. It seems beyond the capabilites of virgin to fix it.. john..
  7. I do not understand all that cloud nonsense. i do know that last time i bought a computer they were on about that and i could have whatever size it was. I told them i needed ten times that size and it was well expensive, why would i want to pay to put my stuff on other peoples hard drive when i have my own?? I "think" the idea is you can access you stuff from anywhere?? But that is pointless for me as i do not even have a mobile telephone, just my computer here in the house.. john..
  8. It is "Blocked or unavailable" a full page thing pops up when you try to sing in. Now it will not even let me get that far.. john..
  9. They did it to me yesterday.. You go to use your emaial only to find that you cannot sign in. You get a message saying that your email is blocked or unavailable. This means that you CANNOT sign in.. You then end up with a page with a thing that FORCES you to give them some other email address. Of course, they do not tell you at the time, but you then find that they have deleted your original email address.. Virgin have had FOUR goes at sorting this today, but have given up and say they have reported it as a fault.. It is not though. I cannot find their page to show you as it is so terrible to navigate it all, but if you have a virgin or NTL or whatever else they called themselves over the years, you will not have it for long.. john..
  10. Hi all, Given that Virgin have started randomly blocking email accounts without any warning [ask me how i know] what are you all using for emails?? I want something that will work with thunderbird as that is what i am set up with and it would be trully horrendous to try to change. What do you all use?? I asked in the hospital where i used to work today as was told that at one time the NHS systems would block hotmail. I have no idea though.. What should i do?? Has anyone else had this?? john..
  11. You MUST tell the insurers straight away. If you do not, they could very well try to avoid sorting this out saying that you should have told them at the outset. You say you have had no responce from the council, hardly surprising as they know full well you are not in a position to sue them. Now, when the insurers contact them, you will see just a little bit of difference in their attitude.. john..
  12. Did a LOT with engines years ago, cars and lorries. On something with quite a short exhaust, like lorries used to have, sticking out the side, you would find things that were well flat. You could put your hand in the exhaust gas as it came out he exhaust and it would be very hot. You would then check the timing, find it retarded, set it correctly, as lo and behold, it ran much better AND when you felt the exhaust fumes they were a LOT cooler.. That was how i learnt this. People think that the fule air mix is burning all the way down the power stroke. It is not, it burns at the very top and the rest of the power stroke is just expansion of the hot gasses. If the timing is retarded though the gas will still be burning as it is pushed out of the exhaust.. Anyone that doubts this need only look at a two stroke. If the charge was still burning by the time the piston uncovered the exhaust and transfer ports, the incoming charge would be ignited too. The thing [unsurprisingly] would not run properly if at all and would spit back out of the carb in a big way while trying to stagger around.. john..
  13. Retarded timing... This means that the charge is still in the process of burning when it exits the cylinder, thus giving rise to very high exhaust gas temperatures.. john..
  14. I think golf courses are about the ugliest most un-natural looking things you could imagine. I would much rather nice smooth tarmac and a Kart racing track. john.
  15. Just ignore the halfwit. Let them try to sue you, see how far they get. They gave you permission thereby consenting to the risk that harm might be caused. Let them prove they have suffered loss. or... At the end of the day, they are being funny with you, they obviously do not care a shit about you. You do the same, deny all knowledge, see how far they get then.. john..
  16. Well, look at it like this. You are no worse off, [nor better off] BUT, you can sleep soundly without waiting for a knock on the door one day!! Got to be worth that eh?? john..
  17. Tie a slip knot in the dangly part of the rope?? john..
  18. I have not got one of them mobile phone things so mine is virgin cable so i suppose that is what makes the difference?? john..
  19. On the video, i could not get it to work, but when i went on the little line thing at the bottom and dragged it along a bit, off it went!! john..

    HS2 Over

Surely if it has been the subject of a compulsory purchase, it already is sold? john..
  21. Oh i see!!! I would have thought that if whoever cut the tree down was within their rights, then they would not have resorted to doing it in the middle of the night in a rain storm! john..
  22. Ummm, sorry! thought that was aimed at me! john..
  23. Was 16 apparently!! Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall cut down by 'vandals' WWW.BBC.CO.UK Police are investigating if the much-loved landmark was deliberately cut down by vandals. john...
  24. Not quite the same, but there have been numerous cases where a bank has paid money into someones account by mistake and they have drawn it out and spent it. When it goes to court, the courts decide would it be reasonable to think the account holder did not realise it was a mistake. What i mean is, if someone paid, say £5000 into my account by mistake, i would certainly notice. If on the other hand i had £567,983,8765,235 in there and paid £10,000 in and out every day, then i might reasonable not notice. If the court rules that they would have noticed it is theft... All i am saying is, a free £8,000 sounds great, but if there is anything that you have now, or MIGHT like in future, say a shotgun or firearms cert, or perhaps insurance or further loans, anything that hints of dishonesty, will wreck that for you... I cannot see they will not notice.. I would ask for the settlement figure and make sure. You were expecting to pay the £8,000, do not take the risk of wrecking your future hoping they will not notice.. It is not worth it... john..
