  1. Currently on FB marketplace just down the road from me. A hundred year old bottle of something or other containing a gram of coke.
  2. Some escaped from a council owned petting zoo near where I lived in Lancashire, late 80’s. They survived some pretty harsh Winters and eventually settled in a privately owned woodland, where they multiplied and where noticed by the local poachers. They are pretty fast, but unfortunately, slower than a lurcher, they are all gone now.
  3. Are they bringing them into Holiday Parks by the coach load?
  4. I had a quote from a dealer in Bellac for the same saw, it came in at €1900 with the unit, charger and the bigger battery. I went and had a demo, first thing that struck me was the weight, it actually weighs about the same as my 572xpg. The performance was pretty impressive to be fair, certainly the best battery saw that I have used, the new large battery IS essential though. Unfortunately, gunning it through bar length hardwood sapped a fully charged battery in around the same time it took for the oil tank reserve indicator to flash on, so I would need at least 3 batteries and the ability to charge them to do a days cutting, I left with a 592xpg.
  5. As a couple of beams, not worth much at all after transport, unless you can find someone local who wants it. We used to re saw lots of Douglas and Pitch pine from demolition jobs, usually old Mills from all over Lancashire. Delivered in by the artic load though. There is a guy in West Sussex, (Woodlouse Industries on Instagram) who might take them off your hands, I would be surprised if the value wiped their own arse though. Bonne chance 👍
  6. The larger one looks more like Larch or Douglas fir, which has very distinctive smell, the rings look too wide for decent pitch pine. Cut the end off and take a close up of the end grain, then compare it on the wood database.
  7. My local dealer offered me one last week, I am holding out for the xpg which should arrive at the end of the month.
  8. If you are on Instagram Andy, check out Grantlandtimber based in the SW. They have been importing Peterson Mills and developing business here for about a year, they are planning some sort of event this year, I think they are out and about up in Scotland this week.
  9. -5 with a little snow and ice causing transport issues for the school bus, so day off work with the little girl. Got busy with some baking, knocked out some Cornish pasties for lunch with a Victoria sponge currently in production.
  10. When you have performed CPR for 15 minutes and still had your own brother die in your arms, because of the actions of a speeding driver, come back to me on that one.
  11. Yeah, it keeps me motivated when I’m feeling the pain. I quite fancy this bike ride too, it goes straight past my house.
  12. I stagger my jobs so that I don’t climb every day, I tend to choose the enjoyable ones and get another climber in to do the ugly, ivy covered monstrosities over swimming pools. I work alone quite a bit too, so I am climber and groundy, I just price and pace the job out better. Eating well and keeping active outside of work is essential for me, I had back issues when I first moved out here due to inactivity, the harder I train the less issues I seem to have. I’ll keep climbing until the kids leave home then look at winding up, buy an over lander and just set off.
  13. If you know it’s wrong, go and get yourself tooled up then, it’s not hard to find a gun if you want one. You can walk around in blissful harmony knowing that you won’t be ‘scared, just prepared’ in whatever situation you find yourself in, imagine how safe you will feel whilst purchasing your Elderflower cordial down at Waitrose. If you do get pulled, you will face a 5 year stretch, but you could just argue your individual rights override the law, that degree will certainly come in handy.
  14. I guarantee none of the unfortunate people involved are now advocating for the arming of everyday Australians. I haven’t heard or read anything officially from Australian sources that suggest they are going to advocate a change in the law to allow civilians to arm themselves either. You are not the spokesmen for them and your opinion is yours alone.
  15. Okay, that’s not convinced me. A couple of Lithuanians got a bit stabby in an argument over something or nothing, so that justifies the need that I immediately require a handgun to do my weekly shop, oh do behave.
  16. You are aware that all these incidents happened in a country where guns are easily available, where gun crime off the charts, mass shootings are a weekly occurrence, and none of us live there?
  17. Beautiful little bird, same with Teal, hardly any meat on either.
  18. I once took refuge from the rain in The West of England after giving the XT a run out to the transporter bridge. Got chatting to a group of black guys on the allotments there, growing all kinds of exotic vegetables from their culture. I remember the next pub along ( can’t remember the name) heading into town had all the shoplifters in, selling all their knock off on the tables in there, 50 metres from the cop shop.
  19. You watch your back out there Alex, you know how dangerous Greggs can be at this time of day.
  20. Or more likely, it’s because you are wrong and no one needs a handgun to do the weekly shop.
  21. Because he might wrestle the gun off you because you bottle it, or you just wing him, then he shoots me or the kids with it. Yeah, cheers Alex, thanks for being there. 👍
  22. Fortunately for me, I live in a world, both a physical and mentally, where I am not worried about hypothetical worst case scenario events taking place. I don’t spend my time ‘ imagining’ such things being all around me at all times either, that would be immensely draining and unnecessary brain activity.
  23. There are many gun owners on here, some of them will have had handguns before the ban, probably not happy about it, yet I don’t think any of them have agreed with you about allowing the general public in the UK to arm themselves with handguns, why do you think that is?
  24. Like I say, get in the real world like the rest of us, the one where the chance of someone pointing a gun at you whilst in Costa is slim to none. And let me frank, someone is waving a screwdriver around at you and you haven’t the balls to tackle him and take him down, you haven’t the balls to point a gun and pull the trigger either.
