  1. The large doors on 2nd floor remind me of a granary in an old farm steading. Maybe for storing goods for transport on canal? The arches being access for horse and cart. Interested to know if there's any sign of a pulley above the big door on gable end.
  2. Stopped snowing but got cold last night, was -12 at 8am. Beautiful calm day though
  3. Lovely quiet day with clear skies between snow showers, just above freezing
  4. That's a great gesture Mr Hewn, it's quite an opportunity you've offered there (hope you checked with any wife, partner or significant other first though!).
  5. Disappointing for you, keep trying though, and on the bright side at least you weren't 6 months in and settled when you met her

    Covid-19

From the edited video that was posted, it looked like the guy was arrested for refusing to give his name when asked, rather than giving people soup.

We are very fortunate in my area that the Police mostly show plenty of common sense and compassion. The local beat bobby has mentioned before that he is in the lucky position of having a relaxed chain of command above him, and people largely behaving sensibly in public.

I really don't envy the Police having to enforce the changing confusion of covid laws. The Scottish government seem to be on TV permanently saying 'you may only go out for essential reasons, only essential business is open'. Yet you'll see car showrooms and the like open, and recently the rise of horsebox coffee stalls, the one local to me regularly has groups of people at it, 100m from the Police station. Must be difficult to keep up with what you are enforcing as an Officer.
  9. Cheap logs, you said. Whenever I try the link it says advert not available
  10. The advert has been taken down
  11. Do you think I should leave the dogs in the house? Assuming you mean 'man's best friend' dogs I'd say it depends how they behave really. (If you mean the dogs on your chainsaw, definitely don't leave them in the house)
  12. The league of gentlemen
  13. Does anyone know who the proper 'clerk' is!
  14. Tried it today and I'm afraid the stihl cap doesn't fit on the husky can
  15. I considered doing this when the 3rd spout started to stick, but after asking a few people I got the stihl can/spouts and not had an issue since. If it helps I'll try putting the stihl spout on a husky can to find out if it fits
  16. It's 6pm tonight (wed 3rd)
  17. See lots around here too, doing well on this Holly

    Covid-19

Was just thinking, there was a photo posted here at one time (I think by aspenarb) of his son on a rugby pitch looking extremely fit and strong, on paper he was obese too
  19. I understood that birds wiping the stickiness off of their beaks after eating berries could spread it too, is that wrong?
  20. It is 50:1. Fairly sure it's written on the label but I could be imagining that
  21. Had similar issues with an 07 L200. First time the engine management light came on and limp mode, mechanic plugged in to laptop and said it needed new injector, was fine after. Second time it had no power above 2k rpm, was lumpy as you called it, and his laptop led him to a vacuum hose needing replaced. Think if you can find a smaller garage to check the fault codes on it they'll find the issue in a few minutes
  22. They'll never be more settled than that, great picture
  23. How accurate is your watch Commando? Have a couple of friends with these type of watch and they say things that seem a bit strange. An overweight office worker that's sweating and panting after walking up a small hill told me quite seriously his heart rate was only 46, made me a touch cynical of the technology!
  24. FR Jones and Gustharts both get my vote. Both been good to deal with and will answer any questions, great service all round
  25. Yes, it is recommended. As htb said, if you don't use one then climbing will be harder work, you may damage the tree and your ropes will be messy
