  1. We’re they Indians by any chance? Nothing against them but have found them to have a time wasting mentality on several occasions .
  2. Yes that’s true people ask for a hard pruining on them not really intrested what is best for the tree .I agreed to cut some back hard last year taking way more off than needed after client says he seen others done the same and willing to take the risk .somehow on those particular trees no watershoots appeared and still plenty of fruit still this summer .
  3. Stihl hl95 been a good worker .had one from new about 3 yrs and never had a problem. good amount of power to cut most stuff .seems as though they are no longer making the hl95 & hl100 and the newer ones don’t look as well built
  4. Jimmy fiddler didn’t make an appearance this time .... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f322UY7F3Dc the other one same man though?
  5. Those pikeys been at it again .5k for a quick shoddy attempt at apple tree pruining .should be kicked in the balls £3.75 a kg for green waste .jokers

    Job wanted

Best bet speak to local firms say your keen to progress forward and offer to help as a beginner groundie even if it’s a few days unpaid it could get the ball rolling or give you more of an idea what’s involved.driving license or moped provisional license would help aswell as spending 50 quid on basic ppe
  7. Hi yes not particularly big tree but got stuff underneath to dodge.dmm pinto pulley any good for this? rated at 50kn which I think is half a ton
  8. This topic has probably been discussed lots before on here but I’m unsure which gear to buy and hopefully someone can give some pointers .which cheapish good pulley block for medium ash takedown rigging and karabiner which attaches to the webbing sling. must fit the usual 11.7mm rope many thanks
  9. Ok .maybe the firm not for me .i got the tickets but noticed some youngish cutters didn’t have any when I did a few days with them a while ago .large firm should know better and not take any chances.they are on a job only down the road I could drop by but say what?
  10. Ok. I was just trying to figure out how amateur the firm in question is and if I should try again with them or not .maybe more spying required lols
  11. If the suggested tarp idea isn’t practical then a strong snow shovel will speed it up .they got a good one in wickes for around a tenner
  12. Intrested to hear from those with more experience how unusual is it for a large scale forestry companies to be employing cutters with no tickets ? (but know how to work a saw ) How does it work with insurances especially if they are felling on a roadside.
  13. I hate it when you just finishing tidying up some crappy conifer hedge .ready to go then client says she was expecting me to trim area at rear it was very cramp in between a wall and pointless as no one can see it .ended up bruising myself bad on a previously cut limb .
  14. Anyone finding in this heat that there Gallup Glyphosate weedkiller smells like stale old piss when you open it ? Not keen on the smell what’s the correct way to chuck it away ?

  16. Been comparing stihl and husqvarna hedge trimmers this evening.got several hedgers but considering replacing a Stihl HS82RC which I find it too heavy / not balanced well Looking at similar machines anyone tried husqvarna 226HD75S / 522HDR75X. or can anyone recommend a commercial 60-75cm petrol hedger with low vibrations/ low weight well balanced
  17. Not the best at identifying tree species but it looks a bit like a young horse chestnut ?
  18. toyota granvia are 4WD .small/medium sized van for not much money. they don’t get much mpg though being 3l diesel .they could maybe pull 2 ton depending what hills there is
  19. Wouldn’t personally bother with Stihl m-tronic.when I was doing some saw tickets the course leaded / examiner was very anti Stihl said they had copied the saw designs from husqvarna not as good etc .starting to wonder if he was onto something .to be fair though everything does break at some point

    Stihl bt45

Anyone want one of these ? forgot I had one which was bought around 2 yrs ago for a job that never happend .as new never used it got wood drill and small auger both new .willing to sell for half price of what it cost Genuine sale Copy of original recite can be provided
  21. Yeah a lot of people not prepared to pay the extra which is fair enough but they should at least try it first so they know the difference.I would say having run aspen for a while then back on normal briefly .it smells similar to burning rubber or plastic .still got the taste in my mouth .
  22. Been using aspen for a while now ...recently ran out and had to go back on standard unleaded today when I was waiting for delivery of aspen ...intrested to hear from aspen users which try standard fuel again and what different they noticed in the air quality..(when operator using hedge trimmers and chainsaws ) Had annoying headache this afternoon which I’m convinced was a direct result of using the fuel with some cheap looking 2t oil mixed @50:1 I got in some petrol garage ....it makes sense now as this use to happen to me before trying aspen .thankfully got the aspen now
  23. Fair comment.they are not brand new but I’ve checked over them and 2 of the 3 ropes seem useable.around 400 worth when new .for 30 quid bargain.looks expensive too post though if anyone wants them
  24. Good advice.also just noticed out off 2t oil and fuel .aspen not arriving TIL Tuesday .probably stupid question but will I get away with using mower oil in 50:1 mix for tmr only then back on aspen .
