But the bent out of shape bit is the point... so you can have the spine against whatever hard surface you've got, but the gate is still available... I have steel ones similar, too, that also don't look bent... because they are a different product... I just prefer things, generally, that are midline attachable...

Looks like? Dude, it's wavy straight out the box... 40kN breaking strength... (Are LOLERers allowed to fail functional kit because they personally aren't familiar with it? That's bollocks.) As with literally any carabiner, they are piss easy to open and close as long as you've been shown how to do it...

I run DeWalt batteries so I'm looking at this thing, but after 2 days wrestling a 4m griselinia down to shoulder height and another 2 in the near future, it's moving up my shopping list quickly.

Solution: find a source for those honeypot ants, and have them farm your aphids. You can then eat the ants. Honeypot ant - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG Try not to let them escape into the wild, they might be invasive. But they sound delicious, so every cloud would have a silver lining.

I recommend growing them at home, I'm taking half a dozen to my customer tomorrow because I have too many. Not sure how I'd turn them into Creon medicine to be honest, but at least if we cover some of the culinary side of production, that'll leave more for medical purposes. Any more knowledge on the subject?

That was my exact second question! Does seem like you'd be more susceptible to ninjas sneaking up on you and such. I was hoping someone with first hand experience could quell my fears. Might just stick with the skinny ones, I have no complaints about them.

Yeah, definitely wooly aphids on some of those. They can also be a vector for spreading diseases around a tree, or indeed sharing them to other trees. Focus on them, and the tree might improve.

Companion planting, encouraging biodiversity, eliminate all chemicals from your garden (and your neighbours'...), and as a last resort, you can buy a box of them from the Internet. But... without enacting all the other steps first, they'll either die or fly away.

Off the top of my head, the best solution for wooly aphids would be wooly ladybirds, but if you can't find those, regular ladybirds will do.

Have you practiced applying it? I have an Israeli bandage in my kit, I'm fairly confident I could wrap myself up successfully with a leg injury, but if I'm applying it one-handed to an arm wound, my plan is to enjoy the view and bleed out.

Wotcha The visor on my Vertex Vent is now more hole than mesh. Still got a few more years on the lid itself, and Petzl lids fit my skull just fine so I'll probably stick with them, even though I'll never look as cool as the Protos crew. I was just going to replace the MSA Sordin it came with, but is there anything to be said for the Hellberg below? Looks a bit clunkier, chunkier, but more durable... Any other visor recommendations, compatible with Petzl Vertex?

Have a quick Google images search for "wooly aphids apple tree". Is that at all similar to the fluff you saw? Edit: Predictably, being a smelly hippy, my first bit of advice is to stop spraying the tree for... well, pretty much anything. But especially don't spraying antifungal if the problem is a wooly aphid 😉 Oh, and pictures of the tree would always help 👍
