  1. Well, that's just plain wrong, there flat out aren't 150 million of them, as about 30 seconds of googling will tell you. Registered Voters by Party 2024 WORLDPOPULATIONREVIEW.COM There's the first link I plucked out of my ass, others are available. So, back to your original point: if the radical loony left win, who exactly will be harmed? Feel free to stop after you've listed as many as I did up above, we can always start again after that.
  2. I was born and raised in England, I have experienced many hosepipe bans. The trick is to have a nice long bath the day before you need to water the garden, but don't pull the plug. Syphon it out onto your tomatoes instead, using the hose that you taken off of the outdoor tap, so you aren't tempted to use it. If you get really dirty, you might even need three or four baths a day!
  3. If Trump gets in, the current front line will be the new Russian border unless Europe decides to take further measures.
  4. The scales on which that harm can be measured are heavily weighted towards one side. An increase in deaths from pregnancy complications and higher rates of infanticide; higher rates of cancer, lung disease, etc due to fewer environmental and pollution regulations; doctors, nurses, other health care professionals being locked up, emigrating, or lynched by the "pro life" (lol) crowd and the resulting staff deficit having further detrimental effects; an increase in violence towards the LGBT+ community after the green light from Donald; the same green light will bring an increase in violence against people of colour both immigrant AND homegrown, because, who really cares about the difference; an increase in violence against college-educated people; an increase in violence against anyone with left-leaning tendencies; I mean I could go on but that's just off the top of my head... what's on the other side of the scale? He has promised as much, and it is entirely possible that this will be the first thing that Donald has ever said that isn't actually a lie.
  5. I heard that they are actually filming the war on a soundstage in Bracknell.
  6. I think she's diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, so it could have been one of the other voices who told her to pick it up. Definitely a bit heavy handed, anyway, considering it was she who called the police in the first place, complaining of a prowler outside... Of course, could be that schizophrenia again... So maybe diverting a little funding from the police to mental health services might be an outcome of this episode. Hahaha!
  7. Well, she picked it up because the police officer told her to...
  8. Sooo... anyone got any thoughts on Sonya Massey?
  9. Is it a list of 325 names who are set to be arrested on day 1 of King Trump the First? He's probably added a few more by now.
  10. Absolutely fair point, trees aren't big enough here on the west coast anyway. I only ever use a ladder and a lanyard.
  11. Because in my opinion it can be better to give the benefit of the doubt and allow an opportunity for a peaceful resolution. Violence begets violence, until it doesn't. My dad worked in the violent and mental kids department at whatever schools he worked in over his 40 years in education, he would be sent the snarling, spitting, swearing students whenever they got a bit too much for their teachers. His most successful technique for turning the lives around of the bullies, psychopaths, no-hopers, and punchbags-at-home was to teach them how to use chopsticks. Just lifting a bowl of dried peas, one at a time, into another bowl. He would occasionally gift them a set of funny round dice, still numbered one to six, but spherical. They were weighted inside, so still landed on a random number reliably. For a lot of them, it would be among the first sign of patience, compassion, or kindness that they'd ever seen in their short but miserable lives. Victims themselves of neglect, abuse, domestic violence, born into broken homes with no prospects for escaping. For decades after, he would have random people come up to him in the street, thanking him for his understanding, for setting them on the right track. Happened loads of times when I was younger, out in town with him. Anyone can throw a punch in retaliation, and sometimes it's needed. But a kind word can often carry more weight, and stands a much greater chance of breaking the cycle. That lad who threw a chair at me (and every other kid in the class, there was no favouritism here), Paul Frost his name was. My dad gave him a pair of spherical dice. I wonder where he is now.
  12. Ah come on, that doesn't bring it up to 200% though, does it. 135, tops.
  13. My two have been instructed, if anyone ever hits them, to tell the teacher and then tell us. The second time, tell the teacher again, and us. The third time, they are to break their assailant's nose.
  14. Tuck that log with a sprig sticking out of it into the ground, she'll grow again just fine 👍
  15. Jeeesus... do we really need a bit of string tied to each of your posts so you can keep track of them? You say there isn't enough bullying in schools these days, not like the good old days when you were being chiselled into the rugged individual you've become. What exactly are you asking for? What steps do think schools should take to ensure an increase in the right kind of bullying? I am... flabbergasted. I know there's often disagreements on here... but arguing that there isn't enough bullying in schools? Can you even hear yourself?
  16. And you think there isn't enough of this in modern schools? You want more of this?
  17. So when you say you were bullied, you mean people called you names? Man, you sure had fancy bullies. Mine threw chairs.
  18. Haa ha haahaa! Maaate, I've worked in kitchens since I was 14. You have absolutely no idea! Bullying... helpful for a child's development... You've got a screw loose.
  19. Maybe we should make mandatory bullying a part of the curriculum. 40 minutes twice weekly. But where would we find the kind of teacher willing to deliver such a monstrous lesson? Oh, now it all falls into place. Is that the part of education you were hoping to get into? Roughing up the theatre kids and beating all the left-handed?
  20. It becomes increasingly clear the kind of world that forged you, and for that, you have my deepest sympathies.
  21. Yeah, that quote is bullshit, we've all experienced hardship to some degree or another, and if you think that more bullies is the answer to the world's problems, then... Christ. I don't know what to say to you. I'm so, so grateful that you didn't go into education. You would have absolutely ruined those poor kids! What were you hoping to teach?
  22. Honestly, I try my hardest to ignore a lot of what you type. Noone benefits from the pointless bickering that ensues. But this? What a joke! You are blaming a supposed increase in what I assume you'd call "snowflakes" on... a lack of bullying in today's schools? Man... how does your mind work?!
