  1. You will have the added stress combined with staff coming and going. If you trained someone up and they see you making a good living they will want to go on their own.
  2. It was 100% and used to drive a big jag.
  3. Nothing will come of this apart from having to park the jcb loader at the yard but that depends on local planning restrictions.
  4. Double bedroom right on the front bow was my favourite and a mini king size bed. Slept on the boat for a few nights to as went on the piss with the boss 🤣

Spot on and always in the office.The boat yard was right on the lock and amazing place to work during the summer .Only time that other john would get involved would be on a saturday morning when hire fleet needed a small job doing before it could go out on hire, Stuck hatch or lock needed sorting.Small world eggs
  6. Spot on timing wise eggs and he would be a fair old age now and loved a beer. You lived or worked around that area eggs or just a small world on the waterways. Dartline rings a big bell and he was in partnership with another john who seemed the brains
  7. Not sure this was nearly 30 year ago eggs.The yard was on the nantwich road 10 miles outside crew if that is any help. John dytch was the owners name.Blue boats they were and had a hired fleet. I went out to germany working straight after that.
  8. Boat shells were made in an old barn which had a slipway into the canal just outside nantwich. The main plater and welder were ex british rail as crewe used to be a where the trains were made so really good tradesmen in steel fabrication. Had a fitter who worked for rolls-royce for 30 years and took the hand shake then worked part time there.Joiner was a cornish guy who had moved to the area after marrying a local girl. I ended up there as girlfriend at the time was in university and got offered a job by a lad in the quiz team we used to go to.
  9. First rule of thumb forget your spirit level mark and 90% is scribing stuff.Really enjoyable work mind

I worked in a boat yard so worked with some really experienced guys.The floors were welded with T-bar like a grid and then concrete slabs laid to sit the boat down in the water and even the weight out depending how the boat was to be fitted. The ones i ended up working on were a lot wider than the normal uk narrow boats as they were for a chap over in ireland who had a B&B on the river shannon
  12. Fitted a few of these out when i was up in keele back in the day. Mostly teak and ash ply to line all the main walls and ceilings

  16. Only issue he may have will be the jcb and that is doubtful. Wales and england have different rules

  19. I went by the house where I grew up in yesterday. I asked if I could go in and look around, but they said no and shut the door in my face. My parents can be so mean sometimes.

  22. Fook all they can do woody and i had my 7.5 tom lorry parked in drive for years and it was a tidy truck
  23. Yes you spoke to them and did not ignore it.Nothing council can do end of story as i have been down this route many times
