  1. Steve ( se7enthdevil ) on here has a cracking planer/thicknesser for sale and a 3 blade cutter block.That really gives a super finish over a 2 blade machine.Not big money and its 240v
  2. I have done that mark and spaced them out.
  3. Now your cooking on gas james. Different league all together and a fully professional machine used in many joinery shops. I use a 300 mm sedegwick 3 phase and runs 250 mm timber like fresh air.
  4. That axminster will make a thousand pounds plus and is a re branded record planer.
  5. That charnwood is not up to doing wide slabs.Anything around 200 mm wide on a 300 mm diy/semi pro machine is about the limit and i have used quite a few. Just slows down the motor and finish is nowhere near as good on any type of seasoned hardwoods.Green timber would be ok but never plains the same when its soft.

  8. That planer will do you fine phil. Forgot your up in newent so abergavenny is a good easy run for you.
  9. People knock these saws but the titan i have due to keeping noise down has been a great little buy.

A few on the bay just looked and reasonable money to.Couple with delivery but you must be aware if your cutting wide boards on the DIY/Semi professional machines you will be really maxing it,I will have a look on another woodworking forum i am on to see if anyone selling one.Have you looked on gumtree which will be local

  15. That should get you a decent machine. Look on the bay and gumtree first for a good second hand oneas you may pickup a bargain.

  19. They do the job ok.I have one if neighbours are out in the summer so avoids the noise and grief off the mrs
  20. Sounds like you have not torqued the blade correctly.It will vibrate like hell when cutting if the tension in not set right.
  21. Perhaps sam can help you with that bit eggs (I'm proof that some of us are w*nk at getting it up) Quote sam I enjoy working with my hands and could never work indoors EVER 🙂 I love jobs that work every part of your body and you get a huge sense of achievement from 😏
  22. Max out the mill with that log 🤣You can go miles bigger than that mark as looking at those boards no wider the 500 mm ?
