  2. I take it you''re talking about the li ion disc cutter? My stihl petrol cutter is fantastic
  3. Come on guys. Anyone used one?
  4. What's wrong with putting second line in around the trunk as often as poss? Also, that spruce... no way of firing a wighted bull rope or something through the top of it and just pulling it down without the climb? Don't shoot me, I know nothing. Just asking? Ta
  5. Sorry, I meant giant sequoia https://www.monumentaltrees.com/en/content/newforest/
  6. On that note I've had a fiendish master plan.... I'm not saying I will do it cos I like to walk the walk rather than talk the talk but..... There is a large 51 meter giant redwood a reasonable drive from me. I have all Rollands gear lol soooo Basically it's going to take me a while to buy the ropes and harness and caribenars etc etc after I've done next weeks chainsaw from tree and aerial pruning course so I'm very seriously considering climbing that fu***r. Plan is to drink no more than 1/3 of a bottle of port on Saturday night and go out with the dog. If I have phone signal and can get gps grid reference of exact location I'll send it on and if they don't hear back in 3 hours phone me, then who fire brigade? Ambulance? What do you reckon? Do I need a second climber if I'm not using a saw or is this sort of thing perfectly acceptable for a "trained" climber? Ta
  7. My helmet is black. I want to get a hi viz sticker of my company logo to stick on it. Anyone know of a company that can provide this service? I'm getting that the sticker needs to be non solvent base. Ta
  8. Cheers mate. If any of my neighbours had come to me with a legit issue where the shed was bothering them I would have re contoured it or done whatever necessary to not cause them hassle. They are just pricks, they don't even live there. I can't wait to give them the finger lol.
  9. For those who have followed this thread.... I won! Shed is staying!
  10. Aerial rescue and climbing - Passed!
  11. Just a little update. I'm loving it! Rolland Hemming is a very cool guy also. Really decent chap by all appearances.
  12. Today was brutal. Semi crapping it most of day. Got some high limb walks done out of sheer "fuck itness" Everywhere I've previously broke a bone in the past aches apart from my back of all things. What the hell have I got myself into....
  13. The joints are degenerating from repetitive strain... Think stem cells are the only hope I've got for the future.
  14. Only if you go on top. Shoulders aint up to much...
  15. I'm 6ft tall about 180lb and I don't work out so not great upper body strength but not bad for 40 cos I lift heavy shit at work. Shoulders are both buggered from breaking concrete though but serve me well pulling but not pushing... hence the occupation change.
  16. Day 1 of climbing and aerial rescue today. Climbed about 40ft. Did a limb walk. Laid down on the limb in the sun as relaxed as anything. Utterly shocked at how little fear I had. Very aware but not scared really at all. Really surprised by myself. But most importantly, enjoyed it!
  17. definite penalty.... OMG when will we get a world cup not commented on by vanilla Lineker....
  18. No. I do think a lot on the left are raving lunatics. But not all. I very much admire Stephen Fry as an example.
  19. OK, I'll take you on your word for that then. Despite our differences of opinion you seem earnest.
  20. Not at all. You're taking a flippant general comment and magnifying its specificity to gain some kind of moral high ground.
  21. I don't dislike it at all. I actually want them to show themselves for the absolute raving lunatics they are. It is not a 2 way street. It's one rule for everyone centre and right of centre and no rules for the left. Their hypocrisy is staggering.
  22. Does it hell. People on the right still think it's perfectly within anyone's right to fly a balloon, we just see it as bad taste and not very politically prudent or constructive. We're not running around universities curtailing controversial, yet edifying speech of anyone we disagree with or bringing in laws compelling people to speak a certain way against their own volition. It actually doesn't swing both ways at all. "It" swinging both ways couldn't be further from the truth!
  23. Battery saws are the future. Die hard fume breathers notwithstanding. Has anyone tested it yet? Is it better than the Husq? I'm in the market for a battery top handle in the next 3 months but I'm waiting cos you kinda commit to a whole line of battery equipment from 1 manufacturer once you've pulled the trigger so it's a big decision.
  24. I noticed that nearly every man, woman and dog almost without exception had the mark of "nutter" written all over them.
  25. I couldn't possibly see how anyone can argue against the absurdity and offensiveness of employing a women to be minister for "women & equality" who has told women who were raped as children to keep quiet for the sake of diversity... However... I have a feeling you'd love to try....
