  1. Brexit is new to everyone & everything that has gone before if I'm not very much mistaken, If we as ( I wont say Brits ), I will say UK citizens ( & that should cover everyone with a UK interest ) all put our differences aside we would be stronger together, Take a football team as an example, if 11 players play "every man for him self" then quite frankly they don't stand much chance of winning the match, if the same 11 team players respect each team mates skills & they play as a team there is a good chance of a really good game & a win if everything goes to plan People & parties are of no importance & the sooner the public grasp this fact the sooner we may see one strong brexit team ready to take on the world. The public are going to dance to whatever tune is played by the politicians & they will dance even harder & faster when the news spins fact ( News always sells & bad news & panic sells more ). We as the man on the street don't know the half of what is going on, I would bet my last $ they all know how the deal will finish up already its already been decided, If they can drag it out a bit longer it will help the expenses claim they put in at the end of each month, I bet they have had a smashing xmas party & they have all swapped xmas cards & gifts at the last summit. There is no way you can trust anyone in top level politics, How do you think they got there to start with Well that's what I think , what do you lot think ?
  2. Mark J in what way is may not doing our country to much good ?
  3. If your so sure May + her gov are " not doing our country to much good " who ( in your opinion ) do you recommend we ask to do the job ?
  4. Have taken your advice Richy-B & Woody Paul, With the thaw that has just set in the Snow Man idea, on top of the service van was not one of our ( my ) best ideas, It will be sand bags & boats if you live near the River Severn for the next week or so. Good luck !
  5. Cant see how it would be a problem if he makes it there & back in one piece,
  6. A no stress day by the sounds of it " Good on you, " Thinking of building a snow man at work ourselves tomorrow on the roof of one of our service vans, with hat, carrot & coal , ( sounds like you know the drill, ) The van is off on a 6 or 7 hour drive to a job in Anglesey on Wednesday , we have a sweep stake going to see if the snow man makes it there & back, will try & get some photos before they depart.
  7. We are keeping our fingers crossed hoping it is only a short blip lasting 2 or 3 days, can't remember the last time we had as much snow so quick ( just like old fashion winters from the past ) 10" every where & deeper in the drifts, it is causing absolute havoc everywhere so the sooner its gone the better, We should have some rain Wednesday & 4 degree's, It starts to melt then & everyone's thoughts turn to flood's, sand bags & boats ( can't do a lot with water you can at least stock pile snow to get it out of the way ) The MultiOne was an excellent machine for heaping the snow with the telescopic boom, There was a down side, ( It was bloody cold to say the lease ) maybe my own fault not dressing with the correct cloths . The best tool on a MultiOne type loader to manage snow is a angle blade with hydraulic off set, Its so much quicker & easier than a bucket. Where do you both ( Kevin & Richy ) live ? ,
  8. Ps / Sorry I have taken you guys with grapples on your minds off topic.
  9. We've been " stock piling snow " with our MultiOne 7.2 demonstrator at the works yard today, Our plan was to get rid of the 9 or 10" of snow before it compacts & freezes tomorrow, once compacted & frozen it is a much bigger problem ( cold fresh air up the nose & in your lungs works wonders, cant remember the last time I had some )
  10. 4am there was no snow, now we have 4 - 5" & still snowing ( Sy15 Shropshire/ Mid-Wales border )
  11. Totally agree with all points made, A new compact loader ( what ever the make ) once adopted into your daily work cycles will more than pay for its self in the first couple of years, you may not clock a massive amount of hours up but it will save on labour & speed your jobs up. If you make the commitment to buy , it takes a few months but you will wonder how you ever managed before you bought a machine, ( we started to specialise selling compact loaders back in 1995 & our customers " to date " do now accept a compact loader dose have its place ) If you only have an hours work on site its not worth fetching a hire machine so " you manage " ( whoops, should have said " Struggled " ) the convenience of owning your own machine cant be measured.
  12. " I know its not Arb Work " but mine moved stone on a demo last Tuesday morning,
  13. Peter, We looked at one 3 or 4 years ago & decided against it for a car, we felt it was to much like riding in a Nissan pick-up that had been " Seriously Pimped " on the back end. Nissan pick-up lovers please don't pull me to bits they are not bad as a pick up.
  14. Looks nice its going to save you a mad amount of work, Have you had 1.7 ton on the front yet ?
  15. My MultiOne has also been gathering brash & " Turning Compost "
  16. AS one door shuts, another one always opens if your looking for it, Everything is always on the move, if your not going forward you are going backwards so there is no standing still , Not in today's world. As so called UK based companies " Relocate " their UK interest's away from the UK there will be others who see opportunities & fill their old space, yes we will have a wobble in the UK & no one knows for how long, Those of us with small to medium sized business interests will still see the sun rise & see the sun set & do a days work in between, not much will change. European import tariffs may be a thing of the future & if manufacturers still wish to sell machinery to the many, the price will have to accommodate any trading tariffs other wise no business will be concluded. Business people we have spoke to from Germany & Austria say we are in for a bit of a rough time but they still need our cash so things will carry on pretty much as they are at the moment, They really cant get over the media spin in the UK ( good news sells but bad news & scaremongering sells more ) In our opinion the Brexit negotiations team & media are they only ones to come out of this smelling of roses. The UK has a stock exchange & that its self will keep London on the world map, The UK is also a communication hub & the business traffic uses the UK to globally get around, Other economy's will want to take our tourism spend & also our machinery spend, when I have been moving & travelling around Europe you do see their industry making do with older machinery, from an outsiders prospective they seem to manage with what they have, they will still want our " Must have shopping list " & be happy to take our money if given the chance, China are finally starting to get their manufacturing act together & given time this is going to be a big threat to to where UK make their spend, As a kid I remember the pi?s been taken out of " made in Japan " but Japan have done OK now it may be China's turn for the next few years.
  17. What would the following 3 be saying or doing at the moment to get their house ready for the future , Richard Branson, Antony Bamford ( jcb ) Alan Sugar ( lord ) They will all still be smiling no doubt,
  18. How do you the people think Brexit will affect the Uk as we move towards the dead-line & beyond ? Who will be the winners & who will be the losers ( sensible comments only please lets have a decent thread going )
  19. That will take forever because of the size of the valve hole, we remove the wheels lay them flat knock them off the bead on the top side, stick the hosepipe in turn the tap on to fill the tyre with water & add the anti freeze, once the tyre is full we refit the valve then use a bead blaster to seal the bead wearing a coat & goggles , make sure the valve is at the highest point to set the tyre pressure other wise the tyre pressure gauge is filled with water + anti-freeze mix, Good luck .
  20. We have never changed the valve when we have water filled tyres,
  21. Smart front end & even smarter back end, looks impressive , Have you tried ballasting the back wheels for additional rear end weight ? , it will add weight to the rear of the machine without un-balancing things by making the front end lighter, any tyre company would be happy to do this well you wait.
  22. Next job will be to make & add a hydraulic elevator to get the firewood " up off the ground " into bags or old 1 ton potato boxes for storage ( & that's one handed operation )
  23. Just finished testing the mk5 splitting wedge, Now working 100% , " The axe head met the band saw just after lunch today " , the job's sorted now
  24. Just had 3 or 4 hours fabricating the latest splitting wedge , ( mark 4 version ) & back to basics. Should have time to run a test tomorrow if all goes to plan
