  1. what about a light spray or smear oil on, must say, iv,e always used vasoline
  2. to answer your question, depends on the work place, as some, maybe too dangerous or disruptive. an office etc then the employer should oblige, i think down to individual circumstances
  3. sell it for what you can get, some nice small cars going for 2k or less where i am, less risk
  4. i have a tirfor, had it 12 years, oil it occasionally, can't remember its waiting, very simple, never had a problem, so reckon 2nd hand would b okay. use it for same purpose as you, but its heavy and plus the cable, makes it a pain to drag around. prob has been finding something to hook it up to thats substantial enough.
  5. I was told using stihl oil protected the fuel and stepped it doing this, so only use it. did have problem with a ktm bike once but my old drz and my chain saws, i can leave one a year and will start. the mower, well that just sits in a damp shed, never had apron with it. ? combination of fuel and cheaper rubber used in modern machines?
  6. The hi lift is brill, and other uses are good (winch, 4' at a time and hard work) but in an emergency to get you moved out of trouble is good. BUT as above you would need to ? put a tracked machine on blocks, also can be quite unstable when jacked, need holding. off road the exhaust filled bag is good. I would have both. on a land rover or similar demo the hi lift. u also need solid jacking points along the side of the machine. good luck
  7. Its really your choice ? not sure about roof, but of course you can, depends on what your using the van for, re roof carpet will hold smells etc and perhaps need glueing, perhaps ply lining or similar, the floor can just lay or even run wood borders to keep it in place and would make easy to replace. good luck
  8. i bought mac 7 years ago, love it, but is now only just intact

  15. wondering about trying to purchase a small number of cords, but don't know where from and if its worth the money as would need delivery if outside of E sussex. trying to tap into your data base of knowledge just considering logging them myself for a couple of years worth of logs for my burner. thanks for tolerating this
  16. i have the 6 plus in a normal case, fits in my inside pocket in normal jackets, if in bulky case, could fit in a belt pocket BUT not sure how it would survive should it get a beating against a tree, (keep it on the ground and use a cheap old mobile when climbing ??)
