  1. Didn't he just get convicted 34 times for lying about his hush money payments?
  2. Most US mass shootings in the last 20 years or so have been carried out by the legal owner of the gun google reckons. My view is if there are more guns available then there will be more reaching the hands of the criminals.
  3. No. There are errors and he needs to try again. Luckily I have a space at the end of my garden......
  4. Similarly "Stinky Poo" an "I love you"
  5. Got to love the USA. In 2024 days between mass shootings, maximum achieved so far: 13 UK mass shootings since 2000: 19, which the US had achieved by January 17th this year alone. Always a good argument for gun controls and never a good argument to relax them. However it looks like Donald Trumps conviction has barred him from owning guns for 1 year... so watch this space if he gets elected that the requirements for gun ownership will change and 'white collar' crimes such as fraud won't count. Sorry, went all political there, don't know what came over me then.
  6. 12 month warranty?
  7. It is possible but I forget the exact state needed to do it - we had fluorescent tubes in the garage, wired separate to the main fuse box in the house - We've got the main electricity company fuse, split in 2, 1 supply to house circuit breakers, the other to the garage (traditional) fuse box. Every so often the garage lights would trip the house. I think it was to do with the capacitance in the garage - fluorescents capacitors - that did it. Motors have inductance which is kind of anti-capacitance so maybe something similar happening here when the motor is running? ... but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I know the bloke who told me, interesting man, but he retired about 4 years ago
  8. If you are set on a saw, check out Lidl or Aldi, cheap battery saw, couple of spare batteries no problem. If you are still set on a petrol chain saw for pallets, go Stihl MS170, it is all you will need if you want a brand name, else check out lidl or Aldi again, less than the £100 plus you will be getting brand new and a warranty. Else keep talking, you remind me of someone, the name will come back to me shortly
  9. Too cynical scbk.... trying to work out the same.... Me, if it was just pallets for kindling, a crow bar / pry bar, working against one of the sleepers that have blunted the chain and they will just pop apart.
  10. However back to Trump - I see he has just spoken for about half an hour, said nothing apart from it being a political witch hunt against him, which starting the prosecution might be, but the jury found him guilty so perhaps a political witchhunt was justified? He didn't say much else of interest though
  11. Well, this is an interesting quote from the article, "It is not unusual for the subjects of government investigations to say they don’t recall an event or a conversation in order to avoid issues such as perjury. The special counsel did not release the transcript of the interviews with Biden, so some context is unclear. Former President Donald Trump, the current Republican front-runner, has boasted of his own vast memory but has also at times said in legal proceedings that he does not recall certain events." Both selectively forgetting things?
  12. To be honest since it is mostly Trump peddling stories about Biden, apparent drug misuse and mental capabilities it is very tricky not to mention him. Take Trump out of the story and... there is no story. Mental capabilities and age I do think there should be an upper age limit for positions of power, perhaps 75 and you have to give up office. More than usual retirement age to benefit from worldly experience, and about the time when physical capabilities start to decline a bit quicker.
  13. Ahh, so 'meds' are 5 common or over the counter prescription drugs (the type all old people will get). The only other common reference that he takes any other is of course, from Trump. Not sure I would rely on that as a source of truth.
  14. His other number 1 fan in the UK, Morgan was similarly disappointed.
  15. I guess then that you cannot say "what meds" ? another figment of your imagination then (or Trumps actually)
  16. Not sure about a genius dealmaker, Trump is best buddies with Putin remember, and Kim Jong Un, and didn't he have a love in with Xi Jinping? Perhaps just get them together over a beer and tell them to behave (and I hear his old pal, Epsteins place is empty, perfect secluded island away from the press... a great judge of character?)
  17. Weirdly with Biden, I haven't turned on the news and thought "WTF" nearly as much as I did when Trump was in charge there. Appears to have quietly just done the job.
  18. Weirdly - something mum said earlier, he can still run for president even if he was banged up "Eligibility requirements for presidents state only that they must be at least 35 years old, be a natural-born citizen of the United States, and have been a resident of the country for at least 14 years."

Unfortunately the way it is, it favours electricity produced by gas or nuclear
  20. Does your wife work? She can move 'home' on the assumption that she is British. Before you move I'd recommend you get dual nationality just in case you want to go back again. You having Canadian nationality - a pain and an expense - might make a move a lot easier. If she works and earns enough to support you then you should be able to move OK, but as above have a chat with the officials, it might surprise you what you need to do.
  21. Go worst case scenario for the weight rather than actual real world weights? 1000kg / IBC and you are never going to go wrong with the kit to move it around?

    Downsize?

This is true. At 'home' the nearest pylons (275kV I think) were 3/4 mile away, no problems, the ones they joined onto the other way perhaps a mile and half (I think these have all been upgraded since). Here the nearest substation as the crow flies is about a mile (only 5 bays so a bit smaller than these, but you have to look carefully to see it), never had a problem with any of these, so yes, different for different people.

Couple of miles to the substation wouldn't bother me, pylons on the garden wall would.. but half mile or a mile away, not a problem to me
