  1. So insult (?) number 1 of the day. I have a syndrome. Right.
  2. For the US marines it is still nearly 30% who - and get this, be prepared for a mind blown moment - 30% who are not white.. and yet... in the photo above, 2 or 3 token black men. The photo is not representative. Also note that in the photo these were the lower ranks, it wasn't a photo full of generals - and as you say, the lower ranks are more representative of the US population as a whole. So 3 posts of rubbish later, back to what I said earlier, it is telling who the politicians select to be in the backgrounds, and here Trump only wanted white marines.
  3. No, however without any racial bias, you'd expect it to represent the population wouldn't you? or in the US military where 20% are black, 17% are hispanic, and only 54% are white - something along those proportions would be a fair representation of the marines wouldn't it? but Trumps handlers selected 80% white, and 2 or 3 token black men (no black women), curious eh why they selected those isn't it. In fact you know very well this point and are just arguing for the sake of it, and not to further any discussion, waiting to get the next cheap insult and dig at any whose ideas oppose your own.
  4. Not denying that, it is who they select in each case which is telling and in the case of Trump here, only white marines with the odd token black man in the background.
  5. That was last nights rumour I read, similar to some of the other long speaking dictators, a catheter attached as necessary so he can go where he is - doesn't have to stop mid flow to well, flow. Rumour attached to that was so he could speak and attend rallies for hours or as a side effect of dementia. Also on the same rumour mill was knee braces due to infirmity. Not believing any of them, being just speculation on the way his trousers crease... however no doubt there will be some wathcing his pants department closely in the next few weeks to give a full report.
  6. Rumour has it that his team selected each of those marines to sit behind him, it wasn't a free for all or done by a default method but an active selection to make Trump look good. Edity: Only white marines need to apply and then throw in one or 2 scapegoats so it isn't a whitewash (on a similar thing, did anyone see the news of Farage last year gushing over one of his black candidates... the only one... struck me the same as here 'Look I am no racist, I shook a black guys hand and laughed with him' )
  7. Going to play a game now, 'Where's wally' (or Waldorf)... Trumpy style.. Where's the African-American wheeled out to try to show he isn't a racist. (1 in 8 are African Americans in the US general population)
  8. No came out of the horses mouth, the founder of Wikkipedia was complaining in the early days that it was too left bias. No lies, no half truths, just a straight up that is what he said. Which might then flip about to how you perceive the world to be, and want it to be.
  9. Point of correction, its founder and first employee, 'started by' complained that wikkipedia had a left wing bias in its early days. So I am assuming not a leftie then. It is more balanced now.
  10. Leftist bias... Wikkipedia is an open source thing, anyone can submit, edit, or amend any of the articles, so if anything on there is factually incorrect the 'community' can correct it. As such I think it is a handy source for quick information - and if the article compares Trump to the definitions of fascism I am inclined to think that far cleverer minds than mine have come to that opinion too. So based on the definitions in Wikkipedia or those Big J posted, where is Trump NOT fascist?
  11. So apart from this list there is a fairly extensive description of what fascism is on Wikipedia and another comparing Trump to many of the descriptions contained in the first. Surprisingly or not the conclusion is that most of Trumps leadership styles mirror the fascism definitions. I'd post the links however I'd very much doubt whether his fans would read much past the first paragraph, however there are search engines that will pick them up very quickly. ... and the conclusion out there even if the discussion is played out is yes, he is a fascist.
  12. For number 5 his historic contempt for women might suffice? Things like his infamous "grab them" quote, a belief that he can take what he wants and the way he objectifies women.. all from his stories or the legal battles he has fought as back up to this.
  13. I suspect that Trump believes that 5% too. His short attention span and surrounded by yes men, very much lives in his own bubble, with the yes men simply confirming the thoughts that pop into his head, even better if these thoughts also have a (AI) video clip to go with them
  14. Take a look at the stats. the number of arrests, the damages caused and so on. The numbers which do not have opinions. 3,000 (?) National Guard and 700 Marines and the order of arrests and damages is to be honest on a level of a nasty old firm game in Glasgow. Hardly needing to send in the troops for that, the Californian authorities have stated that they have the resources and ability to do the job. I'd be far more inclined to believe those with local knowledge than Trump to be honest where his assessment on Sunday was "they are nasty people, they are spitting at the police"... which shows how out of touch of the situation he actually is. Sending in the troops is symptomatic of something else, not crowd control.
  15. Are you distracting here to avoid talking about the issue? Trump is acting in an authoritarian way, reminiscent of the 'great' fascist dictators and unable to defend the man (?) you are instead picking up on which press have right wing and which have left wing political views and whether there are videos out there showing Obama is married to a man (go on then, post it). I think that while the views of the press we view are an important consideration to form an impartial view, current events in the US with Trump sending troops to the streets to quell what are small scale 'riots' are a far more important consideration... which you have bypassed to talk about whether Obama is gay (which TBH is an irrelevance, he is still a successful and respected statesman).
  16. Ash has a lust for life so will probably bounce back OK, but not this year. They will be in a cycle of reductions though, so expect them to come back and do similar in few years time
  17. ...but not out of the ability for the LA authorities to deal with considering the scale of them (they arn't big 'riots' but more isolated pockets)... noting that in many cases there are more reporters than rioters!
  18. I am surprised though, thought you'd be all over this thread this morning, not fussed whether he drinks or not or picking up semantics but bigging up his no noncense approach to civil liberties, to send in the Marines to quell some civil disorder along with the threats to arrest the democratically elected government officials. Not seen heard of deaths yet, unlike January 6th. Thought that would be this mornings hero worship of Trump.
  19. Just said what he should do didn't I "Maybe he should (start drinking)"
  20. Maybe he should? Not drinking or drinking does not indicate a worse or better person, but he might chill out once in a while, and drunken Trump Twatterings would be even funnier!
  21. Not sure on that - all mine took about 5 years to start fruiting well after planting at mine, got one that is about the same as this, due to blossom next year I think (snapped off at ground level, has regrown so is taking a while to develop). Maybe the OP can say whether there were blossoms this year or not? I wouldn't add another stake, unless it is going to get abuse from day toddlers I'd be thinking about when to remove the existing one
  22. However the LA Mayer said he had it under control, had not requested federal support, Trump over ruled him, sent in the military because the protestors were protesting against Trump mostly. 4 days of localised protests is not something out of the ability to control of any state. Noting also that in many of last nights news reports there were more reporters covering the 'riots' than there were actual protestors! Note here a comparison might be that Trump was notoriously quiet on January 6th when protestors (on his side) were tearing up the Capitol Buildings, it was left to local government to request National Guard support.
  23. Like him or not, Musk has some great come backs!
  24. ... Putin doesn't put up with protests and dissent, Trump shouldn't either! They spit at the police so send in the military.
  25. Jesus, you are a stifling bore. There is a reason I left that unanswered and that was to avoid another thread becoming another Johnson D'Senior Dating hate fest like so many threads you are 'contributing' to. Better off ignoring you to be honest. Now back to the headliner... Trump and Musk, what do you reckon?
