  1. Here are some pictures.
  2. Would like some advice please. I read in here how good is the husky 135 and thinking about buying one. I have checked my old chainsaw MAC 838 and was surprised to find the name Huskvarna written on it. I have used this saw for light work in my garden, but I have also used it to fell three large conifer trees and was impressive with it. Recently I have bought 16 acre of woodland which has been neglected and I feel I need a new saw. There are several fallen and dead trees in the wood which need to be sorted out. Here are the specification of my MAC Engine displacement: 38 cc Power: 1.6 kW Anti-Vibration: Yes Weight: 4.7 kg Oil tank: 0.2l Fuel tank: 0.34l Which seems same power like husky 135. Which saw would you recommend and why.
  3. This is an old link so cost may have gone up https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/cost-to-put-up-stock-fence.8061/

    Tempted

Tempted but I feel it is too good to be true Seller had zero feedback. Also if you search for the same saw there are two other sellers selling it for 370 and 385 but both of them are new sellers With no feedback. Likely to be spam but they are accepting PayPal. Look at this on eBay Husqvarna 365 petrol pro X-Torq chainsaw (70.7cc) with bar & chain 2 yr warranty
  5. Thanks. Yes just tried it and it is nice. Guard is fine just in picture it looked smaller.
  6. Would like some advice please. I am changing the blade on my strimmer to a mulching blade. I understand that the arrows and the text on any blade should face upward. Am I correct. In anothe forum I read that the bend edges should face the floor. I am confused. This is how I fired it.
  7. Very nice. This is something that I wish I can do.
  8. Yes we have already decided against chemicals. This is what we have done for few trees
  9. Here is the picture of my woodland mower.
  10. This is my old mower which I have cut its nose off and it worked very well for my needs. I have managed to clear small level area of the wood where we can sit and children can play.
  11. No there is no deers in the area, at least I have not seen any and I did ask the farmers in the area and they have not seen any.
  12. I think Hedge trimmer will work better than a strimmer with mulching blade. I have both and will try to experiment this weekend.
  13. On the felling licence it said 1100 tree per Hectar. No not looking for open space and would like to save most of the trees if possible.
  14. It was too late for some Oak trees and the looked dead.
  15. Here is another picture.
  16. I have visited the wood and the current situation is not good. The young trees has been completely covered with bramble. We know that there are over 400 newly planted trees and after long hours of hard work we have managed to expose 27 trees. Some of the trees already dead. When we cut the bramble we need to be very carful as we may accidentally damage the trees.
  17. yes I bought the ALDI multi tools one and have used it but it is heavy and i ready that brushing will stimulate the grass to grow more.
  18. Yes I have got two slashers already, but for now trees are completely covered and slasher can take any tree accidentally. There are no deers in the wood, I have not measured the tube length but I guess 60-70 cm is about right. I will try to get new pictures next week.
  19. Thanks again, I am responsible man, married and got three children, we bought the wood to protect it and improve it as it was neglected. We have no plan to use it in any commercial way and we are fully aware that it will cost us money to maintain it. If I have decided to go with bestrides I will not do it unless I got the required training, I may at the end decided using mulching mates instead, or get somebody to do it. the problem is we have just bought it and we have no much cash left, I am worried that as the young trees are currently completely covered with grass they may die before we could save them. The picture above is few months old but now we cannot see the trees at all.
  20. Thanks Guys for the top advice.
  21. Thanks Dan. I have looked at mulching mats but concluded that herbicide is more practical especially it is sloppy area. Any idea where to buy the herbicide, how much do I need per acer? Would this sprayer be enough. I am worried because it is only 10 pounds but reviews looks fine. Green Pressure Sprayer 7Ltr | Garden Irrigation | Screwfix.com
  22. Another picture.
  23. Hi I have recently registered with the forum and found it to be very helpful. I am after some advice with regarding to weeding newly planted woodland. We have just bought a 16 acer woodland. 1.5 acer of the wood has been felled in 2003 then replanted. When we have visited the wood before buying it we can easily see the new planted trees, the sale process was very slow and during that time the woodland has dramatically changed. Below is the picture few months ago. Now when we visited the woodland we are unable to see the newly planted trees as grass and bramble has grown and covered the whole area. We had to search hard to find them. I was reading and seem the best way is to use Herbicide, I read about the safe way to use herbicide, using protective equipment etc. My question is which type of herbicide do your recommend and which herbicide bump should I Buy. The planed trees are Oak, chest nut and wild sherry. I am happy to do the job myself, take my time and enjoy it.
  24. I may be wrong but I thought the 365 comes in 365, 365 special and 365 x torq but not XP.
