  4. Hi there we can supply hardwood oak kindling from coffin making offcuts but superb kindling 50 nets on a pallet 2.25 per net 45x60 nets brim full. And can supply lots. Either collect from Tewkesbury Gloucestershire area or can sort delivery at a cost. Rob
  5. I looked into buying a briquette maker to make use of the sawdust and shavings from my business but don't think I could stretch to that at the moment
  6. The machinery being used looked to be contractors in all fairness as had they're name and number on the tractors and baler. Must be expensive drying and pressing into the blocks though
  7. I run a japa 700 road tow I find it to be great it's not the biggest machine but it has its own engine and I can hire myself out with it locally and it speeds up the amount going into the shed massively.
  8. I started out firewood as soon as I had my driving licence at 18 with a polo car and a stihl 170 and a little trailer. Now some 7 years later I'm 26 running a Ford ranger pickup 2 Ifor Williams trailer a bobcat in the yard for loading and a japa processor plus 2 log splitters and multiple saws ranging from a 240 husky with 14" bar to a stihl ms660 with a 36" bar. I love the firewood. I enjoy it and hope to keep growing my business last winter I got through about 8 arctic loads and this winter already looking like il need a few more.
  9. I don't have a towable splitter but I have one I put on a trailer with a power pack and hire out with operator. I'm based between Tewkesbury and Ledbury
  10. Log sales doing ok averaging about 6 -10 bags a week and a couple of pick up loads
  11. Yea I deliver 90% of mine in bags as its a known quantity or I do 3 different size loose loads. I only have an old skid steer so a box rotator wouldn't be a plan. Are the ibc cages any good or should I go for the spud boxes? Thanks for your input rob
  12. I tried vented bags and didn't like the way they stretched. I like the idea of spud boxes and you can find them for relatively little cost (£20 a piece used )
  13. Hi lads. At the moment I cut and split or process outside into a pickup or Ifor Williams then back into my shed and chuck it off onto pallets to dry out before reloading at a later date into bulk bags on my skid steer forks. Was wondering wether to process / split into ibc cages or spud boxes then store in the barn to dry then either deliver in them or re bag or loose load. Just cuts one or two lots of handling out. Would appreciate advice / ideas. Regards rob
  14. Thanks for your input lads. I was looking to spend in the region of 1000 to be honest as just invested in the processor. I missed out on a Thor machine a month ago on eBay that sold for 500 which I'm kicking myself about. Does anybody have any for sale in that sort of price bracket. £500 - £1200. Rob
  15. Hi guys I'm new here. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I've just bought a processor and I'm looking for a splitter to split the bigger wood down to go through the processor in meter/4ft lengths. Can anybody suggest a good one or where I can get one from please. Rob
