  1. Climate scientists told to 'cover up' the fact that the Earth's temperature hasn't risen for the last 15 years WWW-DAILYMAIL-CO-UK.CDN.AMPPROJECT.ORG A leaked UN report on climate change has revealed deep concerns among politicians about... 🤔
  2. The crackpot Covid theory that was dismissed by scientists – but is now the most likely scenario WWW.TELEGRAPH.CO.UK What was once vilified as xenophobic Trumpian hyperbole is now the sober conclusion of US... 🤷‍♂️ Moonbat media eh, throw in a few of Hancock’s wats app messages as to how much they didn’t really “ follow the science “in reality and surely the penny must be starting to drop with even the most ardent believers.
  3. Britain's second lockdown was based on 'very wrong' Covid data, Boris Johnson feared APPLE.NEWS Prime minister raised concerns that the Government could be criticised for 'blinking too soon' No shit 😳 Dominic Cummings deployed election mastermind to reassure Cabinet hawks of public support for lockdown APPLE.NEWS Isaac Levido was recruited to Downing Street in March 2020 to improve the Government’s... Follow the science my arse 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ It’s rather interesting to see the whole charade being exposed for what it was in reality ie a total and utter farce, I guess the constant revelations regarding the strength of natural immunity, mask ineffectiveness, vaccine side effects and lack of efficacy etc etc are a bitter pill to swallow for many of the most ardent defenders of this sham.
  4. Matt Hancock staged ‘rearguard’ action to close schools APPLE.NEWS WhatsApp leaks reveal how then health secretary and his advisers mocked Gavin Williamson in... What a total farce it all was, it’s disgusting to watch those at the top looking to rewrite or manipulate the history of events ( and in all parties case a total lack of acknowledgment of the damage the lockdown and restrictions madness undoubtedly caused, to children in particular) and attempting to distance themselves from what is now without any doubt looking back an utterly disastrous and pathetically ( bordering on criminally I’d say) mismanaged situation that has had massive negative consequences that will last for many years to come . On the other side of the coin I’ve read a summary of the much at the time maligned Sweden’s now completed enquiry, the difference is night and day. Teachers looking for 'excuse' not to work during pandemic, said Gavin Williamson APPLE.NEWS Education secretary and Matt Hancock also hit out at unions at time when Government... Regardless of the merits of the two clowns concerned I’d say the actual point is not far off the mark. The desire to be at home on pay was often passed off as the desire to be safe 🤷‍♂️
  5. Changed the world 🤷‍♂️Really !!!. She is to coin your get out phrase “ a Moonbat “ if her and those like her had their way not one person on this forum and millions worldwide would be able to do a days work. I do wish she would sail off to India or China and see how she gets on rather than stage managing fake detentions for the media.
  6. The reality is it’s a fairy simple but heavy duty concept. The tubular pile once it’s reached resistance has a drilling rig set up over it and a hole drilled through a drill casing to take a large steel pin of a predetermined length, the pin and annulus of the tubular are then filled with grout. Don’t ask me how the engineers work out the drill depth, pin size or grout type 🙄, it’s normally a specialist contractor who will do such things. Loads of stuff online about it and the consequences of getting it wrong particularly in sheet pile walls.
  7. Pins in the bottom of the tubular drilled in beyond the point where it can’t be driven any more and grouted into place, belts and braces methodology probs included as part of design as the ferries up here often give the pier a good wallop with the winds they operate in. Pics show the caisson pier extension unit in place and being floated in recently.
  8. Forbes is top preference for next first minister among Scots voters – poll APPLE.NEWS A Panelbase poll put the Finance Secretary ahead of her rivals. As much as I despise the SNP it’s still good to see normal decent people not being overly concerned about the MSM LGBTQ + hysterical bollocks being generated due to her being a member of the Free Church. Maybe its indicative of the fact people might be utterly fed up with the minority woke madness being forced upon them at every opportunity by the media and vocal minorities, much like the trans lunacy that helped get rid of a first minister I’m sure will go down historically as a total failure in everything she did other than cause huge division.
  9. Sellafield outfall sections end up on beach | New Civil Engineer WWW.NEWCIVILENGINEER.COM A search has been launched by Sellafield operator BNFL for over 50 pieces of a heavy duty 220mm... A good few years ago I was the Guy running the Diving on the sea line decommissioning project at Sellafield . If i remember correctly the original timescale and budget was 6 months and £18 million. The end result was “ we heard unofficially” 3 years and £42 million. I remember the day very well in regards the incident described in the article, the subsea and marine types “ myself included”amongst the team argued vociferously not to put the half height of HDPE pipes we had processed into the wet store location ( as per procedure ) due to the rapidly increasing weather forecast-but were overused as the whole licensing procedure to take it into Workington docks etc was not set up for that dsy. The clerk of works on my shift quoted a line I heard often during my 3 years there “ no one has ever been sacked at sellafield for doing nothing , but plenty have been sacked for doing something wrong”. We conducted thousands of dives over the 3 year period without a single LTI, tidal strength was never an issue although I doubt you’d be so lucky if it’s the same power station you can see from Alderney that you are talking about in France, seriously challenging diving conditions in that part of the Channel
  10. Scots won't get 20p cash back in bottle deposit scheme storm due to 'gaping flaw', trade chiefs warn WWW-THESCOTTISHSUN-CO-UK.CDN.AMPPROJECT.ORG SCOTS won’t be able to get back their 20p under the controversial new deposit-return scheme if a... Another SNP belter, sadly the grip the two green lunatics have over the SNP ( basically two made up ministerial posts that give the SNP a parliamentary majority) is totally out of all proportion to the tiny handful of fools who vote for Slater and that deviant Harvey.
  11. Yeah it’s potentially nice stuff if it were not on an island I’m pretty sure I’d be inventing a use for it, got a little burn next to mine those 15m ones halved would be ideal to bridge it.
  12. Open and driven through the mud/rock until resistance then a toe pin will be put in. Yeah much deeper than the originals.
  13. No the main contractor is driving some tubular steel piles to take the new fendering arrangement. More the merrier for Nooie, some of those that came out today are cracking bits of timber.
  14. Pulling some 15m piles today, bottoms are like new, and still a good either 200x200 or 300x300 beam to be had from the worst of it.
  15. Don’t be a tit Mark, you ain’t mystic Meg, I’ve no idea where to start in regards the NHS nor do I want to strike. On that matter we have just rejected the ODIA,s latest pay offer via our union the RMT ( who I have many issues with ) and will be returning to the negotiating table. Would a bunch of divers etc striking in the North Sea if it came to it risk the lives of members of the public ?? No I’d say not, my original post was about that Mark, Doctors Nurses etc if I was to have an accident this morning at work ( 0330 to catch the tide) I’d expect the aforementioned to try and help me out not be on a picket line, like I say when lives are at stake I feel it’s gone too far especially when you see how much is already spent on supporting the whole NHS.
  16. Yep new addition Les, partly due to the hassle many of us have been through etc.
  17. Resources 😳😳😳Ok Mark looking at the current NHS budget and the salaries taken by the multitude of high earners within the cash cow system know as “ hospital trusts” at what point do we start to question its functionality???. Look up Schedule D taxation in the Hmrc bible in particular , and I quite “ Divers and dive supervisors” involved in hydrocarbon exploitation etc on tbe UKCS that will tell you all you need to know. It’s an absolutely disgusting discriminatory piece of tax legislation Mark beyond a shadow of a doubt. [UK] 675 NHS managers earning in excess of £150,000 ahead of tax hike GLOBALPAYROLLASSOCIATION.COM Around 71 trusts increased the number of staff earning in excess of £150k, while 39 cut... There’s some on double that Mark, manage the resources efficiently and spread the wealth further down the pecking order might be a good idea.
  18. I can’t go on the books Mark there is no such thing as an employed on tbe books Diver/Supv in the North Sea hence we operate under sched D taxation. I don’t want to strike,if I’m not happy with a company or a job I talk with my feet bud. It’s served me well so far. How do you equate people wanting more money to “ something must be wrong” we all want more money or to pay less tax eh that’s human nature or to put it another way “greed”
  19. ‘Complete overhaul’ of gun licensing needed in UK after Plymouth shooting, victims’ families say APPLE.NEWS Inquest jury warns that ‘catastrophic’ failures that let Jake Davison have a gun are seen... Same old story right from Dunblane to this tragic event, blatant police failings yet the cry is for more and more stringent licensing upon law abiding individuals who already operate under some of the tightest gun licensing laws in the world.
  20. Not me Mark nor did I partake of that clapping on the doorstep bollocks. When people are potentially losing their lives then it’s gone too far. NHS needs a shake up from top to bottom not a blank cheque. You been in A&E or a hospital lately ?? There are more staff than ever Mark, and not always as flat out worked to the bone as they make out. Admittedly the odds are against you with an MI or a Stroke but if there’s no chance of an ambulance then let’s just say to hell with it 🤷‍♂️Let’s all not bother paying tax or giving a shit. I can’t strike nor did I get a bean during the farce. Unions are enjoying the moment Mark, nearly as much as I enjoyed watching the Sturg depart.
  21. Heart attack and stroke patients warned ambulance not guaranteed as more than 11,000 workers walk out in fresh strike APPLE.NEWS Thousands of ambulance workers are staging a new strike on Monday in a long-running dispute over... I’m all for fair pay etc but my own feeling is this level of disruption is taking things too far.
  22. Blue View type Sonar is great kit but has to be literally pointed in the right direction. Hopefully it’s the lady concerned and it can be dealt with for the families sake, will we ever know all the details of how she got into the river( if it turns out to be her) 🤷‍♂️Who knows.
  23. Searching for anything in zero viz is not easy I’ve found from 30 plus years of experience in the diving game, a body stuck under branches or if it was still mobile, it could easily evade detection until it’s eventually gassed up and floated then been spotted by a member of the public. Id not be critical of the guys doing a finger tip zero viz search along a Jack stay on a muddy river bed as much as I would be of the whole police way of dealing with the publicity side of it and the media. Mind you everyone’s a bloody expert nowadays at everything.
  24. Nicola Sturgeon’s dreamland is over – Scotland faces a painful reckoning APPLE.NEWS The SNP’s stewardship of its country has been near catastrophic Worth a read for a few members on here who previously have expressed admiration and a desire to move to the Sturgeon zone.
