The obsession with gdp or growth is the thing I see as the problem in many ways Mark. No one seems to be content any more everyone wants more and more in a mad round of often credit/debt fuelled consumerism. This time of year in particular does my head in as the level pressure to spend is incredible on families.

Like I’ve said previously there’s a few on here who it would seem might be better off starting up a thread on a certain topic, there’s definitely an enthusiastic tone from said individuals whenever the opportunity arises. Old mogg I’d say knows what he likes judging by the number of kids he’s got. His family nanny (56 years service I think) was responsible for his upbringing.

Seriously you think for a good many years we have seen improvements ?? Not sure where you live or who you mix with but that’s not how I see things. The UK is on a steady downward trend in many ways sadly the last two years insanity has contributed massively to accelerating this, do we have the political leadership, will or indeed ability and character ( unfortunately something that seems to be being eroded ) as a nation to sort it 🤷♂️ I certainly don’t see it.

So based upon that rationale every time I see a drip about the Tories i therefore should counter with one about Labour 🤷♂️🤷♂️regardless of wether it’s factually correct or not eggs !!!! Head and shake time maybe 🤔 The answer to the last question not many and even those weren’t afraid of the benefits the position bestowed, Skinner and Campbell come to mind.

How did I know it would be countered with a tories are worse comment. I totally agree that all of them including the current government are hugely self centred,!wasteful and given the opportunity ( which the last two years lunacy and cries for protection certainly did) greedy who will-line their pockets at the first opportunity, although with the odd notable exception I will admit. I’ve said this on innumerable occasions, the difference is I don’t hold up my favoured opposition on a holier than thou pedestal. £400k for the incidental field £480k for the house 🤔not a sniff off a million 🤷♂️Not bad at all. He’s got about as much in common with the average working man as JRM in reality. So I’ll refrain from wobbling my head for now.
