  1. Tell you what Les you should know by now mentioning the word fat in the same sentence as wife doesn’t end well.
  2. Ffs les I’m from Northumberland man admittedly I emigrated to Aberdeenshire a while back but I’m no jockineese ?
  3. F*** me Les that’s half sensible advice that is ?.
  4. Was asked to resize some old dry Elm for a mate ??. I’m no expert on Timber characteristics as it ages but certainly did not expect it to be so hard, it was destroying ripper 37 blades like they were made of plastic. One of those favours I had to finish but definitely an eye opener and a wood to avoid in the future, unless there is a specific blade, tooth, angle etc for it ??.
  5. I looked into this long and hard and you can indeed buy some of the Trak met components for log loading,as for handling and turning I’m not so sure. The amount of fabrication trial and error would be quite a lot I’d say. The strength in the mill bed would have to be there from the start to avoid long term damage. I guess there is a reason Woodmizer’s are built like tanks. Hyd pack and controls to think plus you will defo be over the 750kg limit for brakes and a towing licence. If you had the time and facilities it is possible but far from a bolt on option. I’ve not given up yet on the idea of doing it to mine but under the current circumstances ie Covid bollocks it’s not high on the list of things to do.
  6. Yeah it is but it’s cheap hence RWE,SSE,EDF etc etc and all the other energy company parasites keep using the yards to make the offshore wind structures yet spout pure shit about green this and that.
  7. Hopefully that gives an idea of how it works, it’s not perfect but pretty strong in use. Possibly I will get around to putting a roller or a skid plate over back edge of floor and get my arse into gear and fit the legs to support the back when lifting heavy stuff. must admit I was lucky as got the winch out of a skip and had a mate turn the pins out of some stainless bend restrictor bolts. Galvanising of the frame done locally has proven to be far superior than ifor Williams attempts ?.?
  8. Anything to get away from politics or Covid ??
  9. No Probs let me know if you want anymore images and I’ll send them offline
  10. Yeah log arch, 12v hyd pump and a 12v warne winch. I think there are a few pics of it on this section a few pages back
  11. Austria, Paris, London, Manchester etc etc were not lone attacks by a twat with a machete. As for China I totally agree, they saturate the market with millions worth of cheap manufactured goods, fabrication yards are pumping out ships, wind turbine jackets and mono piles, steel works are supplying huge amounts of the worldwide steel requirements( including the new forth crossing) and to cap it all off they dropped Covid in our lap ?? Yet the shit they export is still bought without question. Job losses by the thousands, lack of skills or training in manufacturing industries for young people decimated ?‍♂️.
  12. Accident vs premeditated attacks on innocents ?‍♂️No comparison. im well aware of what can happen in police custody and the ability of police to shall we say distort the facts of a particular situation occasionally. Start factoring in the bombings in Manchester, London attacks, lee rigby etc etc the numerous attacks all over Europe !!!. That's a lot of innocent people. Regards drinking and smoking well more fool them, smoking should be banned full stop in my opinion but as it’s a free country supposedly then if they want to it’s a personal decision. Drinking is in the same category it is a personnel choice.
  13. What period exactly were the crusades ??. Colonial rule by any of the at the time European powers was indeed a dark period. I’m reasonably well versed in British history in particular the military side of it. The Empire did carry out many atrocities at various points but current attacks are by and large the domain of Islamic extremists. I’d still say without religion there would be a lot less hassle in the world today never mind historically.
  14. People ?? That’s a broad sweep at the mother Teresa types too.
  15. Very eloquently put but and it’s a massive but I don’t see Jews or Christians etc etc hacking pensioners heads off in the street, burning people alive, shooting innocent individuals or carrying out mass burials of people whom are still alive often recorded for the internet. I’m sure all Muslims ( And I do work with some as I’ve proven to you) shouldn’t have to feel blame same as I don’t feel no guilt for being white and British or the fact that at some point this country made a few quid out of the slave trade. Absolutely nothing to do with me. The direction of the focus is a right here right now scenario!! Spanish Inquisition for example bears no relevance to today. The last few weeks of Islamist attacks unfortunately do.
  16. My own view is religion is the cause of a lot of the worlds woes for what it’s worth. But Islamic extremism seems to take it to a new level of barbarity.
  17. We sell to anyone Mark as have all previous governments and as does nearly every single country in Europe and Scandinavia. The reply was in the context of foreign policy decisions of the previous twenty years of which Blair/Bush played a huge part.
  18. I wouldn’t disagree in as much as Blair and Bush literally should be in jail for what they did. Still you will find it hard to get civilised individuals of any faith to feel any sympathy for a religion that vents its anger by shooting, beheading, stabbing or burning alive innocents or those of a different belief.
  19. Any particular use for it once milled ??.
  20. Looking very much like the incident in Vienna is yet another Islamist terorrist attack. Incredible the amount of coverage it’s not getting, Covid overdose as usual on the news. Islamic terrorists running around a city in Europe with assault rifles yet again, so much for bloody peaceful integration.
  21. Any ideas guys just curious as to what it is. Few pieces of it in amongst a fallen oak
  22. Managed to carry on with the remainder of the Oak today, nights are certainly cutting in ?
  23. Well as much as some people seem to crave integration and acceptance of all religions etc etc I’d say yet another horrific attack in France by a young Muslim male including beheading a 60year old woman Shows how well that’s panning out. Let’s just get this into perspective here !! Cutting off the head of an old woman in public in the name of a religion!!!. How many times in how many civilised western democracies do these animals have to do this before people realise appeasement is not gonna work.
  24. Just to maintain a finer level of control really.
