  1. Many thanks David, greatly appreciated. To be honest I cant take that much credit for my own suggestion - I only got it from looking at your photo's in the Fungi Directory!! Good work on that by the way - learned a lot looking through it.
  2. Bit of a novice when it comes to Fungi so could someone help me out with this one? Is it Silver Leaf Fungus?? Need to be entirely sure as the customer has been told its Honey Fungus and although I'm certain it's not (!) I would prefer to be able to certain about my own identification!
  3. I think it's because a lot of the boxed kiln dried is Birch! Had a customer telling me he used a mix of kiln dried and our seasoned logs because the kiln dried burned so quickly. Didn't like to tell him it was nothing to do with the kiln drying, simply just the type of wood!
  4. Putting aside all the politics and understandable agression surely the real questions we should be asking are; where does all this stolen kit go and who is buying it? Stop the demand for cheap stolen kit and then it's not worth nicking!

I agree with Bob - spot on for both! It's been said many times before but builders bags are a poor standard for measurement. I could pull 3 out of our shed and all could be different sizes. We do a full cubic metre for £85 which fits nicely in our double cab buck with a slight hump in the middle.
  6. Well the honest answer is I don't actually know but.... there is logic in it and I do know others who have had their old Disco's done and were very impressed with no long term issues. Personally I'm happy with the standard power and only really interested in the potential economy gains but given they seem to be joint benefits then what the hell.... looking forward to pulling wheelies when I'm not towing!!!
  7. Having had a lot of dealing with large and international sized companies I have found that the best chance you have of getting paid quickly is to develop a good relationship with someone in the Accounts Payable department. My suggestion would be to not wait but call the company and ask to speak to Accounts Payable. Keep it extremely friendly, explain your situation and ask for their advice on how best to get paid as soon as possible. You may well find that they haven't actually received your invoice for processing in which case you should chase the person you sent it to. You would be amazed at how many invoices get delayed in big companies simply because they don't get sent on by the person it was sent to! Ultimately you might still find the resulting situation frustrating but you will have established the Company's process (and how best to work it!), someone to speak to (so you can check progress and chase!) and with a bit of luck someone who will give your invoice a push up the payment priority list! And finally, its a fact of life in the corporate world that the more you contact them, the more likely they are to respond! Sorry that's a bit long but hope it helps!
  8. Interesting & welcome advice - strangely I filled up at a Shell garage this week and thought about the V Power juice but dismissed it! Will give it a try next time and see if it makes a difference! Also thinking about a ECU remap if it doesn't improve after 2500 miles - more grunt and mileage apparently!
  9. I have a new Ranger 2.2 double cab auto.......and love it. Almost constantly towing and last week towed a circa 3 ton digger on a heavy duty plant trailer - all no problem! My one and only concern is that after nearly 1500 miles the average mileage per gallon is only 20.5! Ford indicate that the mileage should improve as the engine beds in and reaches 2,500 miles but only time will tell. My mate who runs a year old manual version and does and lot of towing gets better mileage, around 26, so again that may be a factor. My vote for the "must have" gadget is the reversing camera. No longer do you need to hop in and out, or have a mate to guide you. Easy to quickly hitch up a trailer as you can see the tow-bar right back and under the trailer hitch every time. Absolute heaven! All I hear about the 3.2 is that it's thirsty. Given the above, that sounds very worrying!!
  10. Hi Andrew, Did you get sorted on this or do you still have a need? cheers, Chris
  11. Many thanks for the info, greatly appreciated. Sounds excellent! I did spot the nifty little electric winch, I think the ATV one comes with a hand winch but perhaps I ask for an upgrade..... like you say handy for a number of things! Cheers.
  12. Hi Village, Really sorry to deviate the thread slightly but what are your thoughts on the Log Arch now you have been using it? I have not used one before but thinking of getting the Quad version! Is it any good with bunches of smaller diameter logs?
