  1. Re: Jo-Beau M300 Peds was asking me about on the pottering about thread. Got the bolt out of the drum with magnet on a stick. The bolt was stuck between the end of the drum and the sidewall of the chamber. The bolt was to fat to get in between the drum's circumference and the chamber wall. All back together and running nicely. In terms of mobility it is very good. It is 28 inches across the outer walls of the tyres, and 41 inches from the far end of the tyre to the front handle, when the hopper is hinged up into the vertical position. The machine comes with a fixed side discharge shute as standard, but I have fitted the optional high rotating spout. With this option you would need to undo 3 bolts to take the top part of the spout off to allow the hopper to get into vertical mode - very quick to do and makes it so easy to get through tight spaces. Two old codgers can lift it over steps if we have to, younger blokes would find it easier. See photo for more info.
  2. Agreed. I will now try and go back to the wee chipper thread to post further details.
  3. It is incredibly mobile as I have just been standing it on end to try and get a bolt out that I dropped into the drum! No doubt patience and lateral thinking will win the day. To give a sensible answer it is very mobile, as you can undo just two bolts to let the feed hopper move into a vertical angle so you can get it round tight corners. I move it on a trailer as it is a bit too heavy for two old fellers to lift into the chip box. The guy I sold my for M300 to a few years back uses a ramp and winch to pull it into a transit van. Hopefully I can post a positive outcome about this lost bolt🤞
  4. Putting my Jo-Beau M300 back together today, having collected the bits form Global Machinery at Newark yesterday. They seemed a decent bunch of people. Mowing lawns. Trying once more to fix the intercom unit back onto my Petzl helmet. Mended the bracket recently, then broke it on a branch climbing on Thursday. Going to just stick it on with car body filler. Pity really as the units were only about £45 a pop and they work really well. I think when this fails again time for the big spend on Protos units. Ouch!
  5. Morning all, Nice bright day here. Pottering then mowing ours and two neighbours' lawns then pottering.
  6. Morning all, Up early to travel while roads are quiet. Going over to Newark to collect the parts for my Jo-Beau chipper rebuild, then finish putting it back together.
  7. Morning all, Sunny day here. Couple of small dismantles in the village today. Saves the hassle of all the local road closures to find a way through.
  8. Morning all, Dry here. Doing phase 2 of a beech hedge reduction. Did the side last August, just the top now.
  9. Morning all, Day off today, meeting up with some friends from student days. Back to work tomorrow.
  10. Morning all, Lazy day, but might reduce a laurel hedge in the garden if I feel up to it. Have a good day whatever you are doing.
  11. And don't the wasps just love being around the ivy at this time of year!
  12. Morning all, Raining this morning, better later. Off to look at a ?dying weeping willow, then a maple damaged by the recent winds. Then hopefully on the home straight with my own hedges. Have a good weekend
  13. Morning all, Normally I take Friday off from site work these days. After last night's wind I would make exceptions for existing customers, but not new ones.
  14. Morning all, Rain and wind as expected. Glad we got everything on the ground yesterday. Just cutting and chipping then rake and blow.
  15. Morning all, Connie bashing next two days, with rain forecast for tomorrow. Think we'll get the climbing done today then, and get as much on the ground as we can.
  16. Morning all, Yes, more autumnal. Staying home today as our chocolate labradog vomited quite a lot last night. Want to keep an eye on her. Bit more hedgework at home to fill the day.
  17. Morning all, Yeah, doing trees today, not more hedges. Happy Monday.
  18. Morning all, More hedges to cut at home today. Busman’s holiday and a plumber’s tap.
  19. Morning all, Cutting down then digging out (mechanically) conifer hedge for a neighbour this morning. Then more weeding and hedgecutting at home. I'll go to work on Monday for a rest. Have a good weekend all.
  20. Morning all, Nice day looming here, looks good for a few days now. Off to see orthopaedic surgeon, almost certainly leading to knee replacement later this year. Rest of day cutting my hedges with the tractor mounted finger bar cutter. Used it 3 times now and beginning to master the controls.
  21. Morning all, Dentist this morning then mowing and woodchip delivery this afternoon. Be good, stay safe, have fun.
  22. Morning all, Dry and cooler here. Another mewp day today.
  23. Morning all, Max 22 here and increasing rain from 4pm. The lawns are going to go crazy now.
