  1. Wild guess - weak governor spring on the carb?
  2. Morning all, Wife just gone to do Park Run! I’ll go do a quote then stay in the shade. Have a good weekend.
  3. Morning all, Got MEWP connected up to laptop and then to dealer yesterday. Just as they were ready to try and locate the fault, the machine started working properly again. So now I will take laptop and connector cables out to every mewp job until it plays up again. Then use phone as hot spot for connection. Oh yes, also remember to take climbing rope up in basket to get doen, or at least throw line to get a rope up. The Flying Scotsman did not have all this witchcraft yet it worked very well. Such is progress. Have a good day all, stay cool if you can.
  4. Morning all, MEWP saga continues. The software for the agent to remotely access it will only work with windows. Yes, I have a Mac. Had to go and buy a cheap windows laptop yesterday and try again today. Keep hydrated team.
  5. Morning all, Day at home waiting for CMC agent to remotely access mewp’s nervous system and find why it won’t play. Any one else prefer it when cars had distributors and points etc? Have a good day y’all.
  6. Morning all, Took mewp to job yesterday and it had an electrical problem. Legs down but wouldn’t let the booms move. Climbed instead. Dealer got to access its brain remotely to solve it. Have a glitch free day all.
  7. Morning all, Dry, sunny and pleasantly cool here. Taking down an unstable spruce today with the mewp. Not setting off until after 9 due to major roadworks. Stay safe, have fun.
  8. Morning all, Rain easing off now, bit of thunder. Weather looking ok for the week ahead. Lazy Sunday
  9. Morning all, Cool and grey here. Doing a quote for a regular customer, then not a lot. Have a good weekend.
  10. Morning all, Pleasantly warm today. Taking a load of rakings/sweepings to weigh in this morning, then “Pottering Friday”. I’ve had a lot more quotes to do in the last few weeks. Anyone else noticed this? Happy Friday
  11. Morning all, Blue sky, max 24 degrees. Couple of cherry trees to dismantle, then some laurel trimming. Have a good day all.
  12. Morning all, Heavy rain overnight. A comfortable 15 degrees here today. Local job of mixed small felling and pruning. Have a cool day.
  13. Soon be winter, in the blink of an eye. Time goes faster as we age apparently. Hope the back settles.
  14. Morning all, Hedge trimming today, no c/s trousers. Factor 50. Soon be winter.
  15. Completed.
  16. Morning all, Got to stay home waiting for a delivery on a pallet. Suits me fine in this heat. Keep watered
  17. A good illustration that. So is that why the big FO chippers like Heizohack Bandit etc are drum type, I guess?
  18. I just use Aspen 2, nothing else goes in the combicans. The older backup saws I have kept run on forecourt petrol with Stihl 2 stroke oil added, and this goes in a small black 2L container on the van, or a 5L normal fuel can at base, never in a combican. Neat E5 petrol goes in steel 20L jerrycan, and diesel in black 20L plastic jerrycan. With my climbing rope and 2 strops, each one has different coloured karabiners from the others. Now some may say I have OCD, but I agree to disagree!
  19. Morning all, Lazyish day today, 25 degrees forecast, with 30 degrees tomorrow. I’ve moved jobs around to avoid chainsaw trousers tomorrow. Happy Sunday
  20. Morning all, Sorry to hear of your troubles Pete. Digging out a few small stumps locally then day of rest. Forecast 30 degrees for Monday.
  21. Morning all, Bit of office work then having a fight with the flail mower to change the hammer flails. Happy Friday.
  22. Morning all, Light rain has now gone. Doing one of our annual trims. Small back garden with goat willow and beech that have been managed as large bushes for years. Combiladder and climbing up the tight chimney inside the beech. Then passing long reach hedgecutters through the chimney. Have a good day y'all.
  23. Morning all, A mere 23 degrees today. Flail mowing and collecting timber from yesterday’s job. Stay safe.
  24. I am not trying to be smug here, but if you have your own (decent) mewp, would it not make sense to use it? It is understandably easy to argue something is ok to climb if using a mewp involves the hassle of hiring in. I don't worry about idiots in cars etc hitting my mewp's legs when it is on the road. I quote the customer for proper traffic management, and shield the mewp with other vehicles/chipper etc. If customer isn't happy with the cost of this they can get someone else in.
