Morning all, Finishing off and tidying up yesterday’s conifer trimming/shaping. We worked flat out for 8 hours, customer home all day. Never an offer of a drink. Won’t be going there in the future.

Morning all, Sorry to hear about your FIL Pete. Six weeks is hardly time to adjust to the diagnosis, let alone come to the end. Shaving conifers today that I would leave as they are if they were mine. Customer happy to pay though.

Morning all, Bit of rain expected here. Off to look at a large ash to dismantle with a colleague. Got dieback, right outside entrance to very large nursing home, ambulances every day. Hope I can resolve the intermittent glitch on the mewp before that job.

Morning all, Going up to 26 degrees here today. Went to Pirtek hydraulics yesterday (I know they are not the cheapest, but there are nearby and always have the right fittings in stock) and asked them to fit a flow reduction valve in a very new looking hose off my hedgecutter. Said company policy was make a new hose only, wanted about £170 for a 4m hose. I managed to sqeeze the valve into a tight spot on top of the valve block. Bloke was very helpful sorting the fittings for this, but their policy is either litigation paranoia or profiteering as far as I can see.

Morning all, More hedge trimming today. We fitted foam pipe insulation round the shaft of the long reach cutters. Much less vibration gets through to left hand. Also wearing padded gloves. Still not heard from Peds have we?

Morning all, Not looking bad for today. Thunderstorm here last night with a brief episode of the worst winds I have seen for years. Won’t be surprised if there is a call or two for local tree damage. Have a good week and stay safe. Never managed to spot you in Auld Reekie Doug!

Morning all, Chucking it down here. Wife doing 8k run this morning, won’t get too hot for her! Looking forward to getting back to normal work routine tomorrow, even though it is hedges all week.

Some pharmacists are allowed to assess "minor ailments" and prescribe antibiotics. I went to our local pharmacy but was told the pharmacist could only see ear infections for 17 years old or less. Then the man in his thirties in the queue behind was allowed to be seen for a presumed chest infection - seems a bit random/illogical. I used the NHS app to put a query in to my GP surgery and they issued a script for Otomize ear spray without needing to see me. They probably only felt happy doing this as my wife, a retired GP, had examined my ear and made the diagnosis. Otherwise I would probably have been told to go to the nearest walk in centre.

Morning all, Couple of quotes to do this morning, then off to a pharmacy to get something for an ear canal infection. Don’t think ignoring it and wearing ear defenders is a good idea!

Morning all, Heading north to cooler weather. Off to see our eldest in Edinburgh for a couple of days, while they are over from Nice. Think he’ll be feeling really chilled😂. Next week looking more bearable.
