  1. Looks a little ungainly on that long reach machine, what sort of size pieces are you cutting with it? Shear looks like a quality bit of kit though! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  2. Yep id be interested in a few of the smaller diameter sticks for milling. Let us know when you've got some. Cheers, Tom. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks guys, will try those, not sure lathams will deal with us small hobby types but worth a go. Since i have a small bandsaw mill (home made) and chilaskan i quite fancy milling some oak for "stock". Anyone supplying smaller saw logs in this same area? Sadly I dont know many local arborists, but would only want a few 18" x 8ft max sticks. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  4. Looking for somwhere in the region of 20-30 boards at 8ft long. Thanks, Tom. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  5. Chaps, A friend and I who are both keen hobby woodworkers are looking for a "small" quantity of kiln dried oak in ~27mm thickness, 200mm wide+ and 2.1m+ in length. We're located on the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire border, so anywhere around the Peterborough area would be ideal, but we're stuggling to find someone interested in supply ~15 cu ft of European or English Oak at anything like sensible prices, so if you know of anywhere please let us know. Best price so far is Scawton Sawmill, but on such a small order the £70 pallet charge kinda ruins it, and it's a 3hr drive. Several "local" Northamptonshire firms have quoted silly prices, one over £1k!!! Cheers, Tom.
  6. Looks awesome, what size blade and motor? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  7. Husqvarna 181se (now 188) from about 1985 (same age as me) used on my chilaskan mill. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  8. Lol, you're not wrong with the ****** out here! Theres the tip at eye green which im told is "free" due to the ******, otherwise theres a place out toward crowland. Sorry dont have any contact details. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

    New Mill

Id check out trak met for a solid design mill, otherwise its norwood or woodmizer probably in that price rage. Depends what "comfort" features you want really. I fancy a trakmet 600 standard if i can ever justify one. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  10. What a complete tool! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

  12. I used a meteor piston and cylinder kit, about 70quid off ebay, very good quality, also fitted a meteor replacement piston in the 281 and no complaints on either. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  13. I made a 188 by taking a 181 and fitting a 54mm piston and cylinder from the 288. Works a treat as is my milling saw on a 36" chilaskan, absolutely rips. I have a 281 I rebuilt and am tempted to do the same on this one. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  14. We always used to use waxoyl on jcb telehandler sliding booms as part of their service, have you checked the wear pads are in good condition? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  15. I have one of these and it's always been a pig to start from new, i suspect they're very sensitive to decent fuel, mine has been a lot better since i started running it on aspen. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  16. Yep ive got one , 1300kg gross single axel 8 x 4 with cage and ramp. I only live about 7 miles from the factory and went up there for a good look round before i bought, compared to everything else i looked at for the same money this won hands down and ive had some serious weight in mine without issues.... 17. Merlo multi farmer, telehandler with a pto and 3 point linkage! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  18. Ive run both through my saws, strimmer and leaf blower, cant really tell any difference apart from the aspen smell is a little sweeter, all my machines run better on this & aspen than regular pump fuel by a noticeable amount, easier starting, freeer revving etc. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  19. My MS251 with its new bling bar curteousy of Rob D. Cheers, Tom. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  20. Looks like an old 5110b converted, seen a few interesting uhd conversions but not a material handler like that, thats pretty cool. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  21. The only kubota ive run is an older 8 ton machine and that was ok, perhaps a bit big/clumsy compared to the latest smaller 8 ton machines. Ive drive a few small 1 ton machines and the step up is fairly significant, performance/efficiency changes significantly from 1 to 1.5ton and then 1.5 to 2.5/3 ton. If youve got acces the go for the bigger you can comfortably accommodate. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  22. Had a 303 auto for a good few years, only had 1 or 2 jams in all that time, usually with cheap cartridges with short/poor brass which got stuck in the ejector port. Miss the auto tbh, would be a great pigeon tool, curretly on a 687 silver pigeon special. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  23. Not really an arb digger, but the closest I'll get to posting one in here. Had this 1.5 t on yanmar on hire for the last 2 days, must be the most gutless mini ive driven out of jcb 801's and takeuchi tb016/106's, the latter of which I have been extremely impressed with. The yanmars build quality and operation are good, but its got small cylinders and i can only imagine a small pump as tracking is especially painful/slow, only 500hrs on the clock and doesnt seem to have been abused. Really wouldn't buy one based on this experience so anyone considering one, suggest you get a decent test drive first. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  24. Nice! 432F is a popular machine, you should try one of the newer f2 models launched in April last year, much improved cab layout and controls, but still a very similar machine. How did you get on with it? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  25. Yep just google it and you'll find the jcb link, did one earlier this week for a telehandler and was 70quid for a week. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
