  1. Ohh, I thought you could always drive a trike on a car licence. So if I did a full test the 79 code disappears?
  2. off to the motorbike shop tomorrow then
  3. Sent off my licence after my BE test Came back with what looks like a full A entitlement Any bikers confirm or disconfirm disconfirm this? (I have taken CBT twice but never a full bike test)
  4. Posting this to help better myself and improve my technique I still have a lot to learn but my skills are improving fast My question is... I know about making the correct final pruning cuts, I was lifting/laterally reducing a large oak this week. Client wanted more light and to remove risk of damaging a stable below. When it comes to taking off huge lower limbs, I found one or two stubs from previous work. Have these been left because the previous climber was lazy/rubbish and didn't want to lower down and deal with a great big log? Or is it good practice to leave large stubbs with these kind of limbs so not to leave massive open wounds where the final pruning cut wound go? So to reduce gateways for pathogens and aid proper healing ect? On the image attached you can see my finished work. The lower left wound is no doubt a poor job on my part, I when through a nail without realising and only noticed the saw was cutting in a curve when it was too late and I had made a pigs ear of the far too large final cut. Which is what led me to start thinking about this.
  5. If the client has lied in his description of the access, parking, ect ect. We will just turn round and chalk it up to experience. Tip is a good point, as he describes it I don't believe it will be more than a load, which can be bought home with us.
  6. Access was my first question. Its good. Can find out all about the congestion and other charges as it's all online. London day rates aren't so easily available. Hence the post. I did wonder if the client was calling me to get a cheaper out of town rate
  7. Just had my first call as a result of my new sign writing. The truck was seen locally, but the client has another property in Knightsbridge Obviously has some cash, but I don't want to go overboard as I want the job. 30% reduce 2 London Planes, not the usual pollard points, less to come off than that. I won't be going up there just to quote, he is sending me a pic. I will need cover my petrol and any congestion fees. Question is, what is the going rate in london for two men and a chipper? And any one know what it will cost me to go into the centre in a truck?
