  2. No worries mate. I'll look forward to it
  3. Just been to look round that block of woodland I told you about Graham. It's not for me... Don't get me wrong, the woods themselves (77 acres) are real nice but it's been split in to too many individual blocks making it unworkable.
  4. Ooh, that sounds interesting, you never know what could be buried in the silt Graham?.. I do like a bit of archaeology
  5. Now that sounds like a plan!
  6. I've the mind of an endurance runner... The body of sumo wrestler :D

  13. Peasants & battle axes... Now there's a combination that could cause problems...
  14. I've lived in many a property that's had oil fired central heating. Never had any problems whatsoever with it. There are, as Rob (dogman) states oil cooperatives whereby members buy oil in bulk as buying over a thousand litres reduces the cost compared to buying 900 litres. There are also various schemes that oil fuel companies offer, most also can provide you with a plug in device that lets you know just how much oil you have in the tank. One thing I found was filling the tank in summer was cheaper than autumn or winter.
  15. You must've had a fair few responses as your message box is full
  16. I'm a Yorkshire man Jon, say it as I see it
  17. Paul, you know the reason why you started this thread and if it was to make people jealous of you then 1 person after 2 years suggests you failed If however, it was to document your journey at a time when you were in a difficult place with next to nothing but showing how a little positive attitude, a certain determination, and a willingness to work whether having to travel in order to do that, then I think you achieved your goal. I've never met you but if I did I would shake you by the hand and say thank you. Thank you for this wonderful insight into your life these past couple of years, thank you for allowing us to follow you on this journey, a journey I'm sure took you places you never imagined going, a journey that's still ongoing... I've already told you that this thread has been the catalyst to the start of my journey into tree works. However, I've been thrown a curveball, an offer that requires serious, serious, consideration... That has all come about purely through this thread and as a direct result, through you. Let the haters hate. Let their own insecurities and envy consume their very being. We're not on this earth very long and to spend any time worrying about what others are doing with their lives is a tragic waste of our own.
  18. Haha! Got to love the haters They probably want their own Silky stickers...
  19. But steak is beef, beef come from cows, cows eat grass, grass is like salad so I'd reckon steak counts as salad...
  20. I may very well take you up on that offer
  21. Hi Paul, It's taken a couple of days but I've just read right the way through this epic log (no pun intended) of your journey over the past couple of years. I'm not sure if you received my message via Facebook? It might easily have gone into your 'Other' folder. I basically just wanted to say thank you, thank you for taking the time to write this thread, thank you for providing an inspirational account of what has seemed like an epic mix of highs and lows over the past couple of years of your life but on a slightly more personal note I wanted to openly say thank you for giving me the confidence to actually do something I've wanted to do for a while but due to my age (38) never thought I'd be able to. That is to start a career in arboriculture and tree works. I have a little experience of ground works but no qualifications and (even though you had qualifications and had worked in the sector for years prior to this thread) reading this thread had shown me that all I needed was a little belief and focus, a belief in myself and something to focus on, the 'end goal' if you like... Now, I'm still not sure what this 'end goal' is but the interim goal is to get my chainsaw tickets and start out on this path that seems to contain the greatest of all people. One of these great people on this here site (not sure it's appropriate to name him without his permission) has kindly offered assistance in the form of work when an extra pair of hands/eyes are required so that's a massive incentive to get my tickets sooner rather than later... Anyway, I'll not take up anymore of your thread with my waffling. Thank you once again for being yourself, an inspiration to many I'm sure, a true lover of trees and their majesty, and above all, the legend that is 'The Silky Fox'!
  22. I do a fair bit of cooking/baking, not as much as I used to though... A few things of mine: Everything on this below image was made by me, the burgers and the breadcakes Here I made beef wellington I've loads more but you're probably all bored now
  23. Oops
