    Yeah, Wathgill probably was at the time. There's been loads of building work going on over the past few years to the other camps to bring them in line for the 'Super Garrison'

    I used to do rabbit control on Wathgill, also on a couple of areas on Feldom too

    It is and does! It can be hard going at times, generally fighting the weather but on the majority of days and nights it's the best place to be working I'll post a link to the video when done. I didn't realise I was actually to be part of it, I just assumed they were using my land. When I arrived at the B&B where the reporter and cameraman were staying I was told I needed to go do my voice-over and introduction :eek: Everything went really well and it was a great day.     Yesterday I had the great fortune to be in the company of two legends of the fieldsports world for an article to be published in one of the shooting magazines. We were ferreting on some of the 6500 acres I look after in the Yorkshire Dales. We were also filming a video to accompany the article which was a bit of a ball ache but still great fun I can't really say any more than that until everything's published

    This might be a daft question but I've heard differing responses so thought I'd ask on here... If I was to do the aerial rescue, would I first need my climbers ticket?

    *Disclaimer All phone activity was undertaken during break times. The 'working' day was in no way interrupted, impeded, or suffered any form of loss of time through the use of them... ;)

    Well it's been just over a week since I passed my chainsaw assessment and today I have the privilege of working alongside Mr Grey Git and Matty This is the first 'proper' bit of tree work I've done with an arborist. I'm seeing loads of stuff first hand that I've only ever seen on video before and it all makes more sense now. I'm proper enjoying the day, even the snow can't dampen my spirits :D

    I think the hardest thing is admitting it to yourself. There's often a massive stigma around depression, especially in men which again adds to the self consciousness of those suffering. Admitting you need help is step one and every journey has to start with a single step

    Aye, sounds about right... They should be shown images of the accidents and fatalities caused through chipper use,that might make them so and think?.. I remember watching a video on the dangers of PTO's in agricultural college many moons ago. It was pretty graphic and as a result I cut my hair short to reduce the chance of it getting caught in one.

    Chipper ticket was easy, really straight forward. If you've been using one regular you should be fine. I'd not used a chipper for 3 or 4 years but it was nowt of a course. Common sense and good practice will get you through it

    He is I went to see him at a job he was doing and spent the day with him helping out, while being shown first hand by him how it was done.

    You'll find all the information on http://www.arbfortraining.com Gareth, the instructor is very thorough in all aspects of the training. I'm hoping to progress to the medium trees course and also the first aid with forestry course.

    It's full on in the sense that you're in the woods all day for 4 days. The first day was all workshop based. It is always worth keeping up with training as things in the industry change and as a result the training changes, as one 57 year old trainee found out. He'd started in forestry many years ago and had the old NPTC tickets. Things considered acceptable back then are no longer seen to be acceptable in the modern H&S era.
