  1. Cheers guys, I didn't know wether they were like the chipper tickets where you can have them but they're not essential. I'll enquire with Ian Morgan and see what they charge for the courses
  2. Can anyone shed some light on these for me please
  3. Is there anyone going from the wirral area that wouldn't happen to have a spare seat going ?
  4. Hi, I am in desperate need of a job. I have obtained my CS30,31,38,39 & woodchipper tickets and I am waiting to hear back from mr hemming about doing the cs40/41 and stump grinder tickets . I have all my own climbing kit and chainsaw PPE. I am based on the wirral, merseyside and I am willing to travel anywhere in the UK for work. I have a years experience felling and cross cutting and only 3 months of climbing with a saw, I do go climbing for fun to retain skills. I am willing to do any work that is tree, garden related and can happily graft and work as par of a team. If anyone is interested please pm me or contact me on 07983289583 cheers Rory
  5. Has anybody done these tickets to power for the utilities. Its not something I've ever come across before and I don't want to waste money on tickets you can get from on the job training. cheers rorz
  6. Wow sloth it's crazy how the prices really do vary from up here to your area.
  7. Can someone clarify ROLO, might just be dumb but can't say I've heard of it
  8. The halfords kits are awesome tools for the occasional user, I have three sets of the 250 kit along with the big spanner set and 3 breaker bars. Keep one at home, 1 in the van and 1 in the tool chest in the yard. You can never have enough tools
  9. I did mine in December and it was really easy and straight forward, just enjoy yourself and listen to the instructors horror story's
  10. speak to someone at autobrite or somewhere that can sell you industrial drums at 25ltr and it works out at about 60p-£1 a litre concentrated. Realistically 25ltr would make 200ltr so why make your own? Also don't use fairy or other brands of washing up liquid as it has a high salt content which strips any protection you put on the glass or paintwork and will do more damage then good. Best thing to do is treat your screen with some nanotech screen protection like Gtechniq G1&4 then use a very dilute screen wash mixture. That will keep your screen clean for months
  11. that means nothing, are you using the wall to retain anything or is it a feature ? how high does it need to be ? A non retaining wall can be a single skin of brick (100mm) but doesn't look nice, a double skin at 9"will give you a much more appealing finish and is good at retain things like lawns and raised boarders to a heigh of 1-1.5mtr. Anything over that or with a mass behind it will need a 18" retainer minimum and possible steel to reinforce.
  12. I do a lot of subcontract work and they have a guy who likes a smoke in work. He actually thinks it helps his work I can tell you for a fact it really slows him down. He is basically on a ride on mower all day and what should take say 6 hours takes him 8/9. I told the boss in no circumstances ever put him with me when I'm on the saw or up a tree or ill walk off site, the boss thinks its fine and tried to argue his case but when met with my answer he backed off and now they have brought in drug testing as it turned out 80% of the company smoke weed or worse and has resulted in mass amounts of broken machinery or vans
  13. look on eBay for a replacement engine as they're only £50 if you can't fix yours. I bought a duff 391 for £110 and got a replacement engine for £60, fitted it myself and its never let me down since
  14. I love mine, it has made climbing a hell of a lot easier
