  1. Christmas should start the middle of December, but over the last god knows how many years it gets earlier an earlier
  2. Should make Christmas every other year!!!! Forced to watch endless repeats on tv and if I wanted to panic buy because the shops shut for one day I could be that when I want
  3. I was always taught to sand diagonally across the floor depending on how level the floor is but from the pictures I can't see how level it is
  4. I'm trained as a carpenter Sanding the floor isn't hard just time consuming, I would hire a floor sander and always work diagonally across the floor, you will also need a smaller egde sander or if you have a orbital sander that will work fine for the edges I'd look at starting with 60 or 80 grit and work through to 180. Once you have sanded it give the floor a good Hoover and then you've got the choice what varnish you use Hope it helps
  5. It's bucketing down here on the east coast! Good job I'm working inside fitting a kitchen

  11. I have had a quick read through it. And so much of it is common sense! We understand the risks and manage it. A code of practice is good for someone who's new to the industry, but proper training and on the job experience counts for so much now days.
  12. I think a lot can be learned from this the lack of training an communication!!!

  14. I trained as a carpenter and have always used hitachi cordless drills
  15. When ebay used to be mainly private sellers you got some really good deals. I always shop around for the best prices and most times you can buy it cheaper away from ebay. Ebay are only worried about making money and they don't care if it's stolen goods just as long as it sells and they get their money
  16. Thanks for the helps guys Looking like I'm going to have to cancel the course for the time being as employer has now decided to pull out of funding it!!
  17. Hi I'm Phil 41 year old lowestoft based groundsman seeking full time emploment Spent most of my working life as a carpenter but don't let that put anyone off. I hold a cs30/31 and have PPE. Hard working and flexible with regards to working hours, I'm willing to travel reasonable distance depending on wage
  18. I wasn't sure as there is nothing in the assessment papers that says you can't. Saves me some money for the time being as I'm funding the climbing kit myself
