Did you get a free pair of ear muffs? That's a loud motor
-
seem to be the only one struggling then.
If you go down the self supplier route, they ask you to submit a felling license, or management plan, how did you get round that?
Did you put it under virgin or waste wood?
Not good with paperwork, my account know this

Bilke do a hardened blade which can handle nails, screws and small pieces of metal.
I had one and used it on demolition wood for a few years with no problems.
Cuts and splits in one go and is pretty quick.
Also good on round wood up to 9 inch I think, maybe bigger

In the yard mate
Wowser.
No wonder you ain't pushing softwood.
Not a huge difference between hard and softwood for you.
£28 in the yard for 3m chip wood up here.
-
Maybe, but up here in soft wood country birch is hardwood and sold apart from soft wood.
We don't have handy beech thinnings or Hornbeam coppice.
Where abouts are you?
Tayside, Aberdeen.......?
-
I'd say that's a little expensive I'd be looking at paying £37 tops pure birch is worth no more than softwood.
IMO it's a mixer wood or I some time put it 50/50 with larch and sell as low grade firewood for £90.00 a cube
You pay £37 roadside for softwood?
-
Tah
Best part of the country mate

It burns if it's dry! Dry it properly and sell mixed hardwood/softwood loads. We used to sell shed loads of mixed loads but the price of softwood around here is about the same as hardwood so we don't bother anymore.
Wow.
Whats a tonne of 3m chip costing you?
-
I recently installed a log boiler, and i have found Pine and Larch to burn better, hotter and cleaner than hardwoods.
