Rust in the back of the seals, tightens the grip on the ram.

You ever get that engine sorted / running yet?
No, never had time, it's been one f up or break down after another.
I will get round to it, was going to get a new radiator made for it.

Let me know if you need more help/advice.
Well, it turned out the AC motor was actually a DC motor, and it didn't take very kindly being wired straight into the generator............
I had another motor on an old defunct conveyor, so managed to swap it over without to much trouble.
Lesson learnt the hard way ?

Thanks for all your replies.
All I could find on Google was cheap Chinese tat.

I've bought a conveyor with a 3 phase 16 amp ac motor on it.
All I have is a cable sticking out of the motor, no switch or control gear.
Where do I find, or what do I need, to make the belt variable speed?
Any help much appreciated

Thanks Gavin, I take it you did one and only the seals needed replacing or were other bits worn and needed replacing as well?
I've two rams to reseal as well so will be ordering bits. The thing is a replacement rotator is £600 so if the bits cost more than 1/3 of new I may as well get new.
Seals only. Everything else seemed to be ok.
Phone Clark's at Dumfries, they're a helpful bunch.

Seal kits are quite expensive, but it's an easy enough job.

Any joy briquette_seller?
New thermostat fitted, made no difference.
Pressure test was fine, so taking the radiator off to get a new core

Larch log, Looks dry, sounds dry, but......
Moisture reading around the outside of the log is zero.
Split the log in half and taken moisture reading throughout, excluding the very centre, generally at 10% moisture, highest reading was 18%, this was taken less than an inch off centre.
Very centre of the log reads 28%.
Thoughts/opinions?

I don't have the kit to do the pressure test myself, and iam waiting to hear back from a local ag engineer.

Pressurise the system manually using a tester, cold to start with, if pressure drops over a short period of time then your in to the obvious..... theres a leak, check visually first for any external signs i.e hoses, head gasket area, water pump gland, water temp sensor body, the usual etc.....
If no signs then you could be looking at an internal leak, possibly on inlet/exhaust side through a fractured head as husk king suggested earlier. If no pressure drop when cold then it would suggest that you have a internal fault once hot.
So run engine up to temperature, watch your exhaust for signs of grey/white smoke whilst doing this which would also suggest water/coolant loss, and repeat pressure check again?
But if you are having to get to this point then chances are your looking at fractured head or porous liners.
Did you see any pitting on top of block or fretting marks around top of cylinders near where fire ring sits on head gasket? Did you have head faced/skimmed and pressure tested whilst you were changing head gasket? No pitting or fretting.
Head was not skimmed nor pressure tested.
I'll try a pressure test on Monday

Then I suspect the radiator needs a more thorough clean especially if it has had any radweld type gunk or a mixture of blue and pink antifreeze.
No radweld, but could have had a mix of antifreeze.
I'll clean again, but the first time was pretty clean, not gunky at all.........
