  1. Just bought one so might have to take you up on that! 💪
  2. Hi guys. Just wanting to pick your brains. What is the main difference with the Husky 365 special as opposed to the 365X? Cheers.
  3. Plenty of SEO firms out there Matty. Bare in mind it takes time to build authority as a website along with plenty of other little factors, there's no great secret to getting to that illusive first page other than building great content that people 'want' to read....
  4. Seen this on gumtree and thought of your incident. Just wondered.
  5. Haven't read all the other comments but I'm sure many will have something to say. For what it's worth I say go for it, you have to push the boundaries to expand your comfort zone. Once you've done it you will feel elated and that's how you push on to other things. Take it slowly and whatever technique you decide to use remember the undercut as you don't want a big tear down the main trunk. Relax, breathe, enjoy. 👍
  6. An hours work to save £100 quid... A no brainer. Off to FR Jones I go 👍
  7. There we go. Thanks chaps. That's why ArbTalk is so bloody good!
  8. Can somebody explain the £100+ difference between the 365X and 372xp. Why would I pay more? Is it worth it? Ta,
  9. Haha, yes I do agree. I suppose that's why ex-military do so well in the industry... Willing to put a bit of graft and pride into it. I will be staying away from anybody with skinny jeans that's for sure. I'll see what a gumtree ad does for starters.
  10. Log into your 'personal' facebook account and if your on a desktop PC there is a small arrow in the top right corner I believe. You can choose to act as your 'personal' page or your 'business' page... Edit your URL in business settings.
  11. Good idea gray git. Incentive based work 👍 need the right lad with the right mindset though...!
  12. Try and edit your Facebook business page URL to make it short & memorable 👍 http://www.facebook.com/spctreeservices
  13. Think of the exercise Pete.... And all those extra pies you could eat 😏
  14. True, it's a catch-22: get more done on my own but not having the time to do it. The only distraction at my yard is the old over friendly farmer! Wana swap?! Think will just have to force myself to do it on a few weekends.
  15. How many of you actual 'tree surgeons' actually spend time splitting wood yourself to sell? Trying to work out whether it's worth my time or not? Maybe hiring somebody. If so, pay them daily, hourly or by how much they split? I have a decent amount of logged wood that needs splitting but really struggling for time as of late. Thoughts....
  16. I get asked this a lot.... 'What's it worth?' (Especially with the older generations for some reason). Unfortunately for them it's worth pretty much sod all. I agree with the comments above, I wouldn't alter the quote to account for the wood being worth something....
  17. If you like mine I'll like yours ;-) http://www.facebook.com/spctreeservices
  18. Absolutely. Leverage your time. The time it takes to make a website could be used to earn more money in the core business.
  19. Wasn't a dig, merely for interest purposes. Lower your swords... 🔪👍
  20. DIY'ers take a look at this: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/243344
  21. I very recently bought my first chipper as well and was sort of in the same situation as you. I done a lot of research and eventually went for a Jensen A530. After reading a lot about all the makes the German made machine just made sense in terms of availability of parts and reliability (I was also looking at the Schliesing but was also just outside my budget). Have a good look on here there's almost a thread on every topic and then just get in touch with people. I had to take the VAT hit in the end but I am really happy with the machine. Good luck.
