  1. Now then, wait a minute guys...the seller has got excellent seller feedback, so it must be well worth a bid.
  2. £500 starting bid?! Is having the job done for free not enough. Correct me if I am wrong...
  3. Could it be a dodgy chain ? Had a few issues with chain not spinning freely on new bar and has been down to damaged drive links.
  4. Thought I would post in this thread for a change. Currently cutting access onto a peat bog, using the timber and brash to built up a brash track. Pretty wet underfoot in places but nice dry section done today.
  5. My neck of the woods, although I am not currently around. Hope you get sorted.
  6. I found all 3...but couldn't for the life of me see what the 2nd one was...so just had to put what product it was next to. Spent ages clicking on the bloody arrows trying to get a better angle to be able to see haha.
  7. Some useful advice here. I have been looking into starting up on my own for a little while now while working in the industry (woodland management/conservation). Have been at it a few years now and finding my 'business plan' heading in different directions as I experience more. For me I think this experience is necessary if I am ever to go it alone at any point. But getting the contacts is a little tricky and the one thing holding me back. That being said no reason why you can't make it work, so good luck if you go ahead with it.
  8. I got a 2014 261, had some bearing problems initially however have not had any problems since and I like using it. Run a 15inch bar on it. Also...I don't have the hot starting issues after it's run out of fuel unlike one of the above posts.
  9. We run an old 441 on a 20" bar and cuts pretty well. Although recently bought a new 461, heard they are worth the extra money, not used it much yet however.
  10. Nice one, cheers Mark. Will get onto it at some point this week hopefully.
  11. Excellent thanks Mark. You know if there is a trick to fitting them or it fairly straight forward?
  12. No, it's not the screw but thanks wood wasp. Yes Mark it is this brass filter. The part on the working saw is brass coloured and appears to be a filter anyway. I just assumed it must be some sort of valve. So is there a valve just in behind the brass filter? If so I am pretty sure both these are missing. I'm on my phone and the image off parts is hard to make out when I zoom in.
  13. Hi all, I have got a 560 which appears to be missing a valve? of sorts and when the saw is tilted pull cord side down oil leeks out (when oil cap is opened the oil flows out) of a small hole located near where the oil feeds the bar. Comparing it to another of our 560's there is apart missing where this hole is. Just wondering if anyone can help me out and tell me exactly what this is so I can get a new one ordered, and if there is a trick to fitting it once i have it. Cheers, Alec
  14. I'm on Anglesey this weekend and planning on stopping by.
  15. Cheers guys, I have put in a request to send them back and get some XL. Just will no doubt now have to wait another 3 months till that's sorted, back to using my own gear.
  16. Thanks humpo, think I will be going with the XL then. Have Stihl just recently changed their sizing then? I'm sure I used to wear some old design A large trousers and they fit ok, although they were well worn. And bggc my zips on my SIP pants are still going strong, nothing wrong with them.
  17. Thanks for sharing bggc, that's good to know, sorry to hear your issues though.
  18. Somewhere around a 36 or 38....on a good day.
  19. Thanks for the response graham, I would say they are bordering on being uncomfortable so I am leaning towards getting them to get some XL, although knowing my luck they will turn out to be too baggy.
  20. Hi all, can anyone help me out with sizing with these trousers. Work has gone and got some new trousers for me, going off my measurements of my old SIP pants, we don't climb but they have it in their head they want us wearing design C. My problem is that I got a Large, and these are tight everywhere apart from the waist (although could handle next size up with a belt) They are wearable however I can't stand overly tight clothing. My question is...are they likely to loosen up in time or am I best to get them to send them back and order me an XL? Cheers, Alec
  21. Can get my hands on a Arctic cat 400cc but looks like something bigger maybe necessary. Out of interest how do you guys without a crane handle stacking logs, do you just stack by hand or you got any other means of stacking?
  22. I love the thought of having a crane, simply for the stacking at the other end. What quad you have there gemtrees?
  23. Cheers Will, and ye, think im moving away from this bigger trailer and starting to think something smaller is more realistic.
  24. No, not bought quad yet, still in the stages of working out what I need for what I want to be doing. I have had a look at various options, just atv and trailer seemed the cheaper start up option for me. Nice set up Callum, and I take your point that it's not necessarily just about what weight you can get moving but about what you can stop moving when you need it to.
  25. That is what I feared. Do you happen to have a pic of your trailer you use?
