  1. Ye, I have been reading endlessly on the topic but never been able to judge what sort of weights certain powered quads can pull (understand that it all varies on the terrain your working). Would be good to hear from some more experiences guys on the matter.
  2. So you think I am being optimistic pulling this with a quad through a woodland then?
  3. Sorry to start up an old thread again..... But any one used and got any feedback on the larger trailer TCF sell. ATV TIMBER TRAILER - tcfengineeringnew I am looking at starting up carrying out small scale low impact timber extraction. Was looking at getting a 350-400cc quad to pull this trailer, think that will be enough to pull a trailer such as this fully loaded?

I avoided the auto tune version of the saw because I was aware a lot of people I knew were having problems with them....avoided their problems but found my own haha. I'm still a little in between the love/hate thing with this saw, if further problems it will turn to hate. Got a new needle bearing on, seems ok but still a little play on the clutch drum, looking to buy a new rim sprocket drum to see if that will help out. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

Thanks a lot spud, great to know what exactly is going on, will look into getting one. Should the damage to the needle bearing be easy to visually see? Just remember having a quick check and nothing caught my eye. Like a lot of you I too think it's a great saw...just a very frustrating one at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

Sorry to restart an old thread but didn't think a whole new thread was necessary for my question. Having problems with my 261, - occasional screeching noise on start up, noticed had worn through the oil pump worm, had it replaced. - one days work, it had started to wear through again with same noise. Noticed play in the clutch drum. - sent it to a dealer (not the one a bought it from cos I have moved from the area) they seemed pretty useless and are simply 'giving it a try' with a new needle bearing. Do people think this will solve the issue? Just want to have it fixed rather than replacing individual parts and giving it a go. Do people have issues getting saws fixed from dealers that they did not buy the saw from? Just bought a 560xp simply because I need a second saw with the time the 261 has spent out of action. Although don't think I will be disappointed with it. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. Cheers Paul, and don't worry that all made sense, I was not aware there was a +F for forestry. Made some inquires and trying to find some one running a course in North Wales/Cheshire/Shropshire, not much about. I don't suppose any one knows of anyone running any courses over this way? Cheers, Alec
  9. Hi Chris, Thanks a lot, that gives me a fair amount to go on. I have been looking at getting on an emergency first aid course for a little while. Is the one day level 2 emergency first aid at work suitable? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. Hello Alec, always a pleasure, not many of us out there. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. Thanks Geoff, cant believe I have only just come across this website, spent almost the whole day reading through it so far haha.
  12. Hi all, I am currently working in land management and I am wanting to start specialising in ground based arb/forestry work. I have my CS30 & CS31 as well as brush cutter & clearing saw tickets. There seems to be a lot of experience on here and just wanted to ask you guys opinion on what further qualifications would help me out to find work? Or if any one knows of any apprenticeships or jobs in North Wales/North West/North & West Yorkshire ideally where I can get the needed experience. Thanks a lot, Alec
