You don't have to go deeper with the gob I think it was suggested if required to find sound wood for the hinge u have to make ur assessment before cutting in for the gob wear u think the best wood either side of the stem to act as ur hinge is and cut ur gob to that depth be it shallow or deep ur call Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Couldn't agree more bar long enough for the job make sure u you have the hinge in the best wood possible if u can get a bit of buttress either side perfect bit of pre tension not to much when the pull starts don't dither about leave a good hinge Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

  7. Your spot on it wasn't nice the left top! The side wear my line was and main craning point wascompletely hollow had some really bad holes wear I could poke a stick throug the stem so required some quality rope work when blocking it down i thanked the lad who was running ropes for his good work 🖒 Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

I ask the man who will be doing the lowering to wear the sena headsets I am providing for the job that day or who is going to be relaying to crane driver if we are using a crane and he pulls a face as if I am asking him to work that week for free it's a joke why do so many tree men find the idea of clear communication with no shouting or I thought you said hold it tight not let it run rubbish so difficult to get there head round ? If I drank I would be having twenty just got to the airport for the security man to tell me my brand new 562xp in its original box all clean no fuel can't go in the hold of the plan no wear to post it at the airport DHL closed at 7.30 so mad taxi ride to get there post it and back to airport in time for flight and in my wisdom I put all my x rings and some other bits in box to save weight couldn't take em out cos my other bag had gone through security already so am short on kit and my new saw for next week I think I need a bottle of whisky 😣😣😣😣 Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
