Hi all, I'm looking to move from my current workshop in Newbury down to the Winchester area, does anyone know of anything available or places to try? My current workshop is around 8m x 8m with electric, so looking for something similar. Cheers

I used a product called Jobber, was customisable. You could do all the normal stuff i.e managed your calendar, customer database, setup teams, schedule quotes, visits jobs, raise invoices, lots of management reports etc. Worth a look and they have a 30 day free trial. It's a proper CRM field solution with an app also. I used if for 3 years until I sold my business, never any downtime and always worked. Think it's around £45 per month. Hope that helps

How narrow does a grinder need to be?

HB20N is a great machine, plenty of power and will get into tighter gaps than any other grinder out there.....apart from an alpine magnum! Does nearly all of my domestic jobs and is built to last unlike several similar sized machines......great re-sell value too -
Hi Stefan, I ran them on my old Vermeer 252. Compared to the yellow jacket teeth, they were an improvement. The only thing I noticed was you had to be careful not to take too bigger bite otherwise the machine was getting pulled up the stump. In the end, I ran multitip teeth on that machine (mounted on a rhino wheel), the machine was much smoother. The rhino teeth are definitely more durable than the MT teeth and can be resharpened easily. Would be cheaper to use them on your machine rather then MT. and yes, they fit into the same MT tooth holder.

I had one a few years ago, got to the point that I couldn't even lift up a cup! Had a couple of injections into the joint which fixed it for a few weeks, then it came back just as before. Had an op on it in the end and it's been fine since. The recovery time from the op is quite long though and it's pretty painful after the op for a while but had to be done. Good luck

I've just had one mate, 2 weeks ago. Today is the first day I've been able to walk sort of normally! I had 3 days off after the op but it's been a real struggle til now. Should of had 2 weeks off and rested it. I reckon another week and I'll be walking without a limp and cycling. Climbing wise, I reckon 6 weeks, especially on spikes. Good luck buddy

Hi guys, as the title suggests, I'm looking at replacing my 5 year old Vermeer 252 with potentially one of the above. I need the machine to be max. 35" wide and wheeled, as this machine would be used on 'no damage to lawn' jobs. Travel speed is important and obviously grinding speed. I not sure whether the 27hp bandit would be powerful enough to be honest but my ears are open to what people think. I hear the Carlton can be a bit maintenance heavy as well but it has a 44hp option, which would be perfect for me. Remote controlled would be a bonus too. I always found my Vermeer a bit under powered with the 27hp kohler engine and painfully slow to move around but it's served me well. And thoughts, recommendations, warnings etc .......very welcome. Cheers

I use brightpay and have for the last 4 years. I'm pretty impressed by it really. It does everything I need including deductions for breakages! Easy to setup and use, and whenever hmrc make changes that effect payroll, the update comes out straight away.

Hi all, We are doing a big job at the beginning of January at Hinksey Hill, South Oxford and it would be really useful if we could find a local chip site. There will also be a large amount of wood from the job: lime, ash, wellingtonia. We can load the wood if necessary. Thanks

Willow stumps - Gallup, Eco plugs or grind?

Alright mate, I would eco plug it then leave it for a couple of months then grind it. Works for me with willow and pop stumps. -
Alan, give Vermeer UK a call. Their mini skids are superb and they'll happily bring one out to you for a demo. Much better customer service than boxer too!

I've just fitted the rhino teeth and wheel to my Vermeer sc252. Massive improvement, cuts quicker, slews quicker, the engine runs much smoother and doesn't tend to bog down. Quick to sharpen too. I'd definitely recommend them. -
