  1. Have you got the UK supplier details? I'm very interested in this too. Ta
  2. We're taking down some large sycamores in Winchester next week and ideally need somewhere local for the chip and wood, if anyone knows anywhere? Thanks
  3. But what's the payload like on a panel van compared to a tipper? Is it the same?
  4. Cheers guys, some good points there. I currently use a 130 defender tipper but am looking for something with a bit more comfort, with a few more mod cons!!
  5. Yeah, like the sound of the beaver tail that's definitely worth looking into. Cheers
  6. The predator weighs in at 1.2 ton. Then we've got a mid size grinder and a couple of small ones. Panel van would be nice but not sure if it'll have the strength to pull the big girl. Plus waste away would be a problem.....umm
  7. What do people think the best all round truck would be for just stump grinding work? Has to be able to pull our predator 50, be able to carry all the associated equipment, have lockable areas, be able to take waste away, comfort would be nice along with good fuel economy but I know this isn't really possible. Cheers

  10. Update: redwood sent their service chap today and they fitted new, updated axles to both machines along with new wheels and tyres. Under warranty.....how's that for excellent customer service
  11. Yes, called this morning as promised. I must add that Redwood have been excellent to deal with and I can't fault their service. It's a new design so there are bound to be issues, as long as they are fixed, I'm happy and I still love the Forst's
  12. You don't mind the odd fault with new products as long as they hold their hands up and admit it to everyone, then get on and replace the said parts FOC
  13. Yeah it's a problem knowing how they're driven. I tell my guys what I expect but you just know that if they're running a bit late at the end of the day, those speed humps & pots holes are forgotten about I'll find out the cost for the heavy duty axles they offer and hope that they offer a serious discount on them. Seems pointless putting the same bendy ones back on!
  14. Crikey, that's not good! But surely they must realise they aren't strong enough and need to do a recall? If they don't, it not really going to help their products sell. I asked him if they'd had any other axles fail, to which he responded 'not that he was aware of'. But he did tell me that they now offer a 'heavy duty' axle!...at a cost
  15. We have 2 ST6 chippers and both are showing signs of the axles being bent (excessive wear on inside right tyres), they're only 12 months old! Has anyone else had this problem? Spoke to Vince at Redwood and he said it's down to speed humps but our old timberwolf 150 didn't have any issues after 5 years use. Should these be replaced under warranty?
  16. Nice design that. Think I saw it at the APF last year? We'll be changing our little grinder this year and I think this is the kiddie to replace it
  17. Yeah as mentioned above, climbing style is the big thing to change. Support, pressure strap reduces the pain a bit but I found it then ached like mad after removing. Steroid injection gave me 6 weeks of pain free climbing but then it came back. Had another injection and it only lasted 2 weeks! In the end I had an operation on it which sorted it for good, although the recovery time from the op was around 8 weeks!!
  18. Sorry to hear, stay positive bud, one day at a time and you will get there
  19. We are looking for a new lead climber to join our team. Excellent rates of pay based on ability and experience. 28 days holiday per annum.
