  1. yeah, its, dougie ivinson sawmill at 5 oaks,melmerby, nr Penrith. CA10 1HF. 01768 881012.
  2. no offence mate but its not as easy as get a landrover and trailer and go and knock connys down. i have had my company for 8 years. my insurance is costing me £1500 pounds a year, we have all our tickets, waste dissposal licence, public liabilty insurance etc, etc, you nshould try and get a job working for a company and get some experience. a little knowledge can be dangerous.
  3. To be honest, sometimes, its a lot less than my transit but i can live with that. A transit would not have been able to handle the lake district winter. There is more chip space than you think, the key is to have a lot of dumps for it, i give it away fresh, one fella lets me dump as much as i want, he needs 200 tonne so it works well.
  4. Thanks, it seems to work well for me, as i have a tracked chipper i try to persuade people to keep the chip, but if i do have to get rid i have a lot people who want it. there are so many aspects to look at when choosing the right set up.
  5. this is the only pic at the moment.
  6. its called a club cab, looks nice.
  7. Yeah mate, have you had any luck finding a crew cab l2oo, there is a spot does em, Used Mitsubishi Sales 4X4 Pick Ups, Dealerships Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Oxford, Northampton, Cheltenham, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Swindon, Cirencester, Daihatsu
  8. Now that sound serious mate.
  9. For the first part i used a sycamore and then a small ash.
  10. Had a mare on the way to work today, full load, hill and black ice, and a trailer. Used the winch to get back down without a jacknife occuring. i snapped the hand brake cable as well.
  11. thanks, there are some nasty people around.
  12. i was bidding on a jappa on e bay, i put 4 grand and it went for 4100. a fella i know got a jappa on ebay a few monts back for 3 grand, same machine. they are hard to find secondhand.
  13. I bought a 130 off them and i would not reccomend them. it had the immobiliser removed and that was a shoddy job, they told me it had been serviced and it had not, it was tarted up with a paint job and new tires. there were things that didnt work and i was unhappy. i did say something but i had handed over the cash by then. go to nene overland, they may be a bit more expensive but you get a 3mth warranty or there is a company that advertise in forestry and british timber magazine.
  14. It aint my nuts that are sweaty pal, its my groin, nowt sinister, sweaty balls sounds kinda weird. LOL.
  15. Snorkel, with out a doubt. in the recent floods up in cumbria my td5 got water in the air intake, luckly it only buggered the air filter, it could have been worse. landys are awesome.
  16. My Landy takes alot of beating, 3.5 tonne, go anywhere, engine ont td5 is bombproof, plenty of room int cab for dogs and food and a built in tool box. come check mine out. lots more room than a L200, they are narrow. my mate has just got a L2oo and they seem cramped inside. i had the tipper full of beach and my tracked tipper, gear, 3 lads, no worries.
  17. only thing with oak is it takes along time to season, ash or sycamore or birch season a lot quicker. Im not knocking oak or anything, im just thinking i would like my money back quicker.
  18. i have been burning that stuff as well, mines 3 years old and dry. there seems to be a misconception that you should only burn hardwood. i spend alot of winters in the alps, most bars etc have a fire or burner, sure they burn birch and oak but they burn loads of pine and spruce. if its dry i.e. no sap then burn it.
  19. i dont advertise logs at the moment because ive got my regulars to look after but ive had 15 calls in 4 days.
  20. I got home from a hard days graft to find the boiler not workin, the outlet had frozen. Rang homecare and waited an hour. rang my mate a gas engineer and he said to cut the outlet pie abot 2 inch from where it sticks out the hous, only problem 20 odd foot and no ladders handy. solution....my AUS fiberglass poles with silk..... worked a treat. i love this job.:thumbup:
  21. Yes i saw him the other week, we are suposed to be going to northampton next week on a job, if the weather aint too bad. how do you know piers?. i would be interested so long as its hard wood. let me know. thanks.
