  1. Isn't the whole point of a forum so you can have a good ol moan with like minds people?? If you don't like the thread you don't have to read it. There are alot of us on here finding it hard at the moment and it's nice to know we're not alone in our struggles:

    Today's job.

    Have you got any pics of your mog Dave, I would be interested to see it, it was a very tight enterance to shunt in as the road had cars parked everywhere making it hard to get in. If a mog can get in there then that could chamge my outlook on them.

    Today's job.

    Ha,ha, they are a good set of lads and I bought em a pint at the end, we had it done and dusted by 2.30. Steve gets out of the tree and grafts. We wouldn't have got a mog up that ally.
  4. What a nice day for it today. We had this large multi stemmed conny to dismantle today, up hill drag and not much dropzone, there was an old cobbled ally that we worked from. Steve Walker was the climber, it was hot and he did a sterling job, the wilkinson brothers and bano were the dragger's.
  5. The tree looks bloody awful, it has been butchered in the past and looks like it has had a fire next to it in the past, there is severe wounding on the trunk. It's never gonna look nice.
  6. When I had a claim off them they paid out within a week, the only reason I may move is if they can't match the quote I have had off arborisk.
  7. Poor lass, does she have a boss eye or wonky leg? Surely she could pull.
  8. Hi, it's not good wood, and not worth a lot of money, just try to get what you can there is maybe 2 cube there.
  9. I'm gonna be on that if things get much worse, just to numb the pain:(
  10. give arborisk a bell, i have just been given a quote and its very good.
  11. i do run it loose but i dont like it, i wanna get a bar with a nose sprocket:thumbup1:
  12. I have a husky 3120, I bought it new last September, it's not had much use but today I had to cut up a large beech butt. I cut a couple of bits and the chain needed tightening so I started to do this when I noticed that there is no nose sprocket in the husky bar?? Surely this can't be right?? I really don't like the idea of the chain running around the tip like this. It's a 42" bar. Do GB or Cannon do bars with nose sprockets?( Rob D) I appreciate any help anyone can give:)
  13. That's what I was thinking Mozza;)
  14. It's bloody soul destroying up here at the moment, it's all on price now not quality of work, I was talking to a mate who said he had been to price a tree and was the 7th quote!! I went and looked at a large Connie with wires everywhere and it's a day for me and climber and moving the wood, I gave them the price and it was my base price to cover costs and wages and they said the had had a cheaper quote, by 200 quid!! I had put £450 on it.
  15. But it will only earn more if the work is there for it, if the work isn't there then it's costing you money surely?
  16. We did 1 last year that had died from honey fungus, we used a large cram to dismantle it, I put some pics on here last year when we did it. It was a great experience.
  17. Newcastle did all right mate as it was only a couple of seasons since you were in the championship so you are progressing, we have been down there and come back up and thanks to investment we are where we are, keep the faith mate. Anyway, you should look into getting academic quals, there maybe grants available and such like, there are quite a few on here from up your way who may be able to help. Try barony college near Dumfries for the Arb info.
  18. Hi Toast and welcome to Arb Talk. Where are you based? It may be best getting in contact with a collage or Uni that offer Arb dergree, also ring round local Arb companys and try to get your foot in the door, that's what I would do. I often get letters of people wanting jobs, and I have taken a couple of lads on in the past from their letters. Good luck.
  19. Utter nonsense, I take it your a red, typical attitude, city have played better football all season.
  20. I'm gutted they have gone down really, same as when burn key and Blackpool went, it's great that the north west has so many teams in the best league in the world:)
  21. Wow, totally blown away that my team have won the league. An amazing game to end an amazing season. What have your highs and lows been?

    HMRC= Joke

    The thing is stevie I did have all the information I needed, I have had my accountant go through it all and it's all correct so god only knows what went wrong. I just don't have very good anger management, ha,ha.

    HMRC= Joke

    I have just seen on tv that if you put 141 before dialling the HMRC number then it's cheaper?? Apparently the switchboard think you are calling from abroad or something.

    HMRC= Joke

    I called the HMRC yesterday as I needed a letter with my utr number on, I waited for 30 mins to get through, I then gave the lady all my details, after about 10 mins I was told I had not passes security, I asked why and I was told some of the info I had given was incorrect? I asked which bit was wrong and was told she could not tell me? I asked why and she said it was for security, I asked how am I meant to get this sorted? She told me I had to go online and change my address? I asked if my address was wrong and if so how could that be as they and the letters to my house wanting money and there is no problem? She then told me to write with my request for my utr. By this point I had been on nearly an hour so I told here what I thought and hung. Utter joke, it's no wonder so many people avoid paying tax if that's the hassle that you have to put up with if you are being honest. God knows how much it cost me in call charges?
