  1. crank feels nice and smooth when plugs out, pulls over well, good shout about the heated handles, will check the back of the flywheel tomorrow, thanks
  2. yep just had a look at all that, seems all ok,changed the autotune unit and it has made no difference at all, flywheel has no play at all and all fins are intact, think tomorrow nights job will be to have the head off to have a better look in there, dont know if the the little bearing at the piston end would give it a wobble if it had collapsed or not, frustrating
  3. have had the exhaust of and all looks good in there,no obvious damage, had the clutch and oil pump out, looks ok that side,no play or anything, will check the flywheel fins shortly, hope its something simple but dunno at this stage, was thinking today, best way to describe the shudder is like a warped brake disc when you brake in your car, only difference being it goes through your hand and not your foot
  4. the juddering is as if the head is loose, harder you rev the harder it judders, only starts to do it once you hit about half revs though, the plug is light brown,i tried changing it already and it ran fine apart from this juddering thing,i replaced the breather recently aswell as it had broken clean of where it goes into the fuel tank, the new one made no difference,it ran the same,i will have a look at the carb tonight,i have a new set of diaphrams already and a new carb and autotune unit aswell if all else fails, bit of a head scratcher this one lol
  5. will have a check on the fuel line, also have a new autotune unit in the shed so will try that too, never checked the little bearing that the pin for the piston goes through so will do that last, nothing worse than saw bother
  6. ok the story is,saw cutting away fine,no problems,i stop, clean the air filter, sharpen etc, fire her up again no problem, ticks away fine, everything working until i rev it and its like when the chokes half out, underpowered and a bit shuddery at full revs, piston seems fine,no marks,no loose bolts on head,no play in the crank, everything seems ok at first look, its only when rev'd up the problem arises, ticks over evenly, heated handles work any ideas anyone ??
  7. jeez thats a shocker of a price lol, might go down the chinese route then after saying i wouldnt, only £30 ish delivered seems a little more pallatable for a back up saw
  8. needing a new one of these, any ideas how much this will be ?,dont really want to go down the cheap import route
  9. nice one,i'll be in touch
  10. dont want it getting to big or the autotune will run like a bag of shoite id imagine
  11. currently getting a little hole appearing on the front, how much is a new one likely to cost ?

    Chain wear ?

i was looking at old chains yesterday, the one on i had on the sugi had been used to the last tiny bit on the cutters and the drive links had very little wear giving me good value, the chain getting used with the oregon bar had about 25% life left on the cutters but the drive linked where well worn to the point i had to change the chain making it no so economic, both had been run on a husky 576,all in all its deffo sugi for me,husky and oregon arent in the same league to be honest and that includes RSN and powermatch bars
  13. how much pressure would you use ?
  14. everything seems airtight, put new carb kit/needle valve in and made little difference,no leaks but pressure drops
  15. just a wee query, have a carb off a 346,pumped it up to about 7 psi,it sits there for a second or 2 then drops away down, tried it submerged in petrol and theres no apparent leaks,is it normal to drop pressure or should it be holding the pressure?
  16. its that time again for another pair of trousers,iv been using the husky technical extreme type A trousers, great trousers it has to be said, anyone know if there are any half decent prices on the go just now, sure i seen them on the skyland site but they appear to have went up in price again
  17. what width wire and what size connectors,is it a 1.5mm wire or 2.5mm wire with a 6.3 mm connector ?,dont have one handy and cant mind the sizes
  18. would any of you nice gentlemen be able to tell me how much these would cost, the part number is 522 42 88 01,cheers
  19. not overly impressed with the oil side of things, ended up just taking it off and pouring it in instead of using the spout
  20. had same problem, turned out a small hole in the petrol pipe due to rubbing, put new pipe on,sorted
  21. nice one, cheers !,I have to say I find the 576 much better balanced than the 372,nice saw to work with
  22. ahh I thought that, glad I ordered one now,i take it the one that goes into the cylinder head is different aswell ?
  23. am I correct in thinking that the rear handle spring that goes on just above the petrol cap on a 576 is now different from the one on a 365,372 etc or am I making that up ?
  24. i had one of these saws,a real beast,especially with a 18"bar on it lol,unfortunatly some **** stole it
  25. wouldn't fit in my piece bag tho
