  2. can anyone recommend a kit for starting out,i.e saw, bar, chain, sprocket etc, always been interested but never had a proper go at it

  6. might go tomorrow to see the new scorpion going through its paces
  7. pretty straight forward,1.8 height, gate, overlap fencing if possible, ground is fairly level with minimal obstruction

  9. well put the saw through its paces today, done about 8 fills and it seems to a lot better after a re tune,a little more tweeking and it should be a good un
  10. aye pretty sure I know who he is
  11. thanks for the replies guys, will do a bit of tinkering today, the saw is great apart from that,i got a little unlucky when I got the saw,it had the faulty worm drive that was too tight to the crank,(Husqvarna actually admitted it had a few problems with this on the xtorq models),hence being a nightmare to start, the air boot that goes onto the cylinder head was not tightened properly and drew air a little, could never get the right tuning at that point and even the little xp sticker on the lid was squint lol, never liked that from the off,bad omen and everything lol
  12. when i am using the saw it runs fine etc but when i put it down on its side it doesn't tick over the same as it does when its sitting upright,i.e after putting part of the back cut in the tree,i chap in the wedge, cut some more, chap some more, the tree starts to go,i pull the saw out and it cuts out as if it needs more tick over,i have tried resetting it several times thinking its cured but then it starts again,i have noticed its not as bad when its cold, its really starting to annoy me now lol,any ideas ?,saws only 4 month old too
  13. holy jesus,5 xl lol
  14. crap chain will break everytime,i tried a titan chain for a laugh and it actually broke after half an hour after getting put on the saw, stick to the big 3 makers
  15. if the chain has two joins in it it will shudder or a broken tie strap, rakers to low maybe,a chrome tooth will also do this, try a different chain,if it doesn't shudder then at least you know its not the saw
  16. i use the 73lpx chain for 3/8 and 21lpx for 325,noticed on the 325 chain you tend to get a chrome cutter every now and again, bugger to sharpen until you break thru the chrome
  17. ended up with the husky technical extreme type a's,very nice trousers and well comfortable, pleased with purchase
  18. interesting,cheers guys
  19. lol I thought that originally,now I haven't got a clue !

  22. hope so,was going to get them from f r jones and son,had stuff from them before but not stihl
  23. bit of a dilemma guys, want to order a pair online but not sure about the sizes,im a 37 waist, size large is 34-38 and size x large is 37-41,will large be too tight ? or will x large be too big ?,bit of a head scratcher
  24. do the husky trousers sit high in the waist so to speak ?,the stihl ones seem to actually fit me better with the husky ones comin up to my belly button, have not tried the technical ones as yet and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me a wee bit
  25. hi,need a new top handle for one, what other saws are compatible with this saw ?,the 350 maybe?,its a 2009 model
