  1. Thanks! I have a japa one which dose the job well. I'm really looking for a war to get the dust out of our sawdust if anyone has any suggestions.
  2. Please could you let me know the make of the extractor?
  3. MCAKingstone
  4. I use the 'Camelbak Forge'. It has a handy 'trigger' activated mouth piece which means you can drink from it without having to unscrew anything. Keeps the contents hot for hours, machine washable lid. Good all rounder. Available on amazon etc.
  5. On a related note, has anybody else heard about the up coming Forestry Commission plans related to importing wood? Apparently whenever wood is imported for the purpose of burning as fuel, soon you will have to inform the FC. I would guess they want to start getting an idea of what amount of wood burned in the UK is imported. I don't know what they plan to do with that information but I would be interested to see some official figures.
  6. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who got in touch with offers of Hardwood bars. We have had in some good loads of Beech, Silver Birch and Oak. Still on the lookout for a bit more Oak if anyone has any to spec.
  7. If you can get pallets of those drop me a PM.
  8. I have used Heat Resistant Plaster, Fire Bricks & Cement | VITCAS on a number of occasions and they always seem to provide quality products at good prices.
  9. We process about half a dozen different products out of most species, so it really helps to have wood that is versatile hence the tight spec.
  10. I am on the lookout for some quality hardwoods for processing. The spec is quite restrictive but we can pay more than your standard "firewood" price. Looking to buy it by the lorry load. If it's the right stuff I would be interested in 100+ tonnes of Oak specifically. If you have anything that fits the spec please PM me and we can discuss pricing. Spec: Length 3m +/- 20cm (other lengths to order only) Minimum top diameter 15cm Maximum butt diameter 32cm All timber should be as knot free as possible, 1st length type material (no top wood), it should be straight within reason with no butt flares, rot, dirt or metal contamination. Species: Oak Beech Silver Birch Alder Sweet Chestnut Cherry Poplar All Fruit woods (Phone for spec)
  11. Any pictures? Is it dry?
  12. Pretty much as simple as it sounds.
  13. Very nice!
  14. Hi Jonny, I have sent you a PM. Sorry it took a couple of days.
  15. Still on the look out for fruit woods.
  16. Sorry, she has already found a loving home elsewhere.
  17. We sell it for use with BBQ's (smoking)
  18. I thought that was a requirement in this business
  19. Thanks, I'll give them a bell.
  20. Thanks for the endorsement! It means a lot. We are a bit old school, not wanting credit checks and the like, so sometimes we get bitten with people not paying us. But I would rather keep things simple and pay people when I say instead of making things harder and creating hoops for people to jump though.
  21. Hi everyone, I am looking for large amounts of all fruitwood, apple especially but I would be interested in pear, cherry and plum as well. We are paying really good prices (£120+ per tonne delivered) but the price is really determined by the quality of the wood. The perfect wood would be: Green, as straight as possible, 2 - 3 m lengths, clean (NO plastic / rubber / metal). We are interested in buying by the lorry load and we should have a long term demand for the right stuff. Delivered to near Harlow, Essex. If you have questions please ask here or PM for more info.
  22. I was in Aghan when our medics told us about the incident. Does that count? I doubt the guy was "cooked" in the conventional sense of the word, I was just using the term our medic used. When he was being treated for wounds on his torso, the person treating poured in multiple packets of quikclot which caused additional injuries relating to the heat they produced. I don't know if that's what killed him or not.
  23. Just trying to pass on my experiences, I would hate to hear of it happening again. That type of quikclot was thankfully discontinued because of worries about the amount of heat it produces (up to 140C) See here: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=fJ1mBgAAQBAJ&pg=PT1423&lpg=PT1423&dq=quikclot+140&source=bl&ots=p-fXVwlakz&sig=0FCSjpsla5lXzMQlF1EukLeHjF8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiw5Z30ua7MAhVMC8AKHTWiCUIQ6AEISzAJ#v=onepage&q=quikclot%20140&f=false
  24. There are a few different types of these available on the market. I would advise you stay clear of any 'exothermic reaction' ones. They work by pouring granules in to the wound which react when they come into contact with blood and heat up cauterizing the wound. The problem with it is, when you open the package if any granules get blow into your eyes you can imagine what happens. Also, there has been a case where someone had multiple torso wounds and had packets of this stuff poured on to them to try and stem the bleeding. It just ended up cooking him.
  25. Can you gives us some idea of the volume you require?
